Why is this a separate app instead of built into the actual ParkChicago app?

I’ve read the comments from five years ago and the problems with app are still the same five years later . Wow. It crashes when you want to zoom in . It doesn’t work .
Parking availability not accurate at all
The parking availability is completely inaccurate. Looking at the availability near Adler and the Shedd, it always shows high availability but that area always has very little available parking.
The app is pointless without accuracy.
Also, why is this even a separate app? Why not build this functionality into the main payment app?
Good to know the privatization of Chicago parking is lazily implemented.

App isn’t opening anymore
Worst app I’ve ever used
Cannot “sign in” after I’ve already made an account. Can’t pay for parking at the right meter. Just pay the meter, worst app ever.

Parking Availability doesn’t work
The app is kind of useless without this feature, other than being able to find meters (which is never really difficult). Availability view for Higher, Moderate, Lower, just shows nothing on the view.
Incredibly unintuitive and buggy
Barely usable. Most of the buttons don’t actually do anything most of the time (e.g. zoom to meter view).
Doesn’t Work
When opening the app, I am instructed to “Please return to Meter View” but when I click “Meter view”, nothing happens.

I would’ve never downloaded this app had I never received my emailed receipt. There are negative (older) reviews - I believe they may have updated and fixed the issues! The parking meters are pretty accurate with location and pricing. Once you have chosen a meter location and parked your car, you are directed to ParkChicago Meter app. You can add your card information and easily reload credits to use. Super impressed!

I’ve been able to use this app a total of three times since installation. 90% of the time it crashes on opening and doesn’t ever recover.
