Overrated and a Scam

Terrible customer service, limited events and only in very small number of locations. They make it almost impossible to cancel and charge you odor things you did not sign up for.

Clickbait, All Events Already Full

I was interested in a specific set of events and paid premium membership to attend said events, upon getting my payment, it was shown that both events were full. Completely misleading, I even asked for a refund or some sort of remediation- none was offered. Also no navigation on the app to end the subscription. Basically if I could give 0 stars I would. This app practically stole my money and has been completely useless.

Too much soliciting. Good luck trying to cancel.

Was curious about this but came to realize it doesn’t offer much in my location at least. More of a place for people to market their business / services. Lots of soliciting.

Canceling is a nightmare.. and they refuse to refund anything even if the service has not been used. you’ve been warned…

Nothing going on, difficult to cancel

One event listed, the rest “TBD” and it’s not easy to cancel. Borderline scam.

Parlor is the real deal

This is beyond worth joining at the premium level. Amazing events, really cool people, it’s always different and the vibe has never let me down. You basically have an instant friend group and things to do. Join NOW! Lol

Lazy and Laughable

This app markets itself as Chanel but what you get is Temu. For the low “membership” price maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, but in DC they let anyone in who pays, and the “events” are primarily things already going on in your city, just “co-hosted” by Parlor. Then they have AI write laughably cheesy event descriptions with stock photos. That’s the whole concept in a nutshell. They piggyback on to existing events, switch up the marketing with AI, and mass invite “members.”

It wouldn’t be a terrible idea if membership was actually curated for what they claim, interesting people, but in DC at least it clearly is not. They let anyone in. real estate agents, people trying to sell you something, kindergarten teachers, and massage therapists. No hate to any of those professions, it’s just not exactly the vibe they pretend to cultivate.

(They also don’t always properly vet events. One “private salon” they co-hosted in DC turned out to originally be a meetup for Libertarians.)

They do have Parlor “mixers” that they organize but every one I have been to sucked. The people were not friendly, meh venues, the vibes were off, and it was just awkward AF. I’m outgoing and friendly and had a difficult time striking up convos; I can’t imagine what it’d be like if you are even slightly introverted. Just a total waste of my time.

Cancelling.

Canceling membership

You shouldn’t need to email them to cancel your membership, especially when they have an option to upgrade your membership in the app. It is slimy.

BEWARE

This app is impossible to cancel. You have to get in direct contact with Parlor to cancel. Even with the premium membership, I wasn’t able to RSVP to any but one event. Super lame hike. When I saw the guest list and what they do for a living I was appalled. People were the least interesting I’ve ever read about. I’d rather use a dating app or meetup to meet quality people. These people are all conceited since they have to be vetted. I’m waiting for a FULL refund for waisting my time and energy filling out all the info at the start of the app about myself.

Bad app

Got approved for a membership then out of nowhere a month later they un-approved me 😂🤯

Scum

Try canceling my membership been one month send email no response The event is a bunch of ghetto.

Consider join

The host they don’t know how to do event

Worth a try!

I’ve only been to one event so far but the event was great! I wouldn’t have gone or found out about it otherwise. The members of parlor are very friendly and social which is why I wanted to join in the first place. I’ve been looking for a group like this, so I’m glad I gave it a shot and you should too!

Paygate

After waiting 2 months to be approved as a member, then they give you 10 days to fork over money. It’s 20 or 40 bucks a month and all of the events have obvious chatGPT written descriptions which to me is seriously revolting.

Amazing Club

Meeting new people is no longer difficult , I’m meeting interesting individuals left and right

They never reviewed my application

I provided everything they asked for, and my application never got out of the review phase

✨ Best Social Club in NYC ✨

Parlor is truly the best social club in New York City — with the coolest events, amazing energy, and such a stylish community. Every gathering feels unforgettable, from the vibe to the people you meet. Highly recommend!

Scamming company

They will ask you pay membership fee for a month then when you sign up there are no events . I reached out to them and they refused to provide refund which is against apple policies . So not only they are fraud company , they are also non compliant with the Apple Store .
