Guter Ersatz für Swiftscan.
Nach dem letzten Update funktioniert meine SwiftScan-App nicht mehr – und das trotz eines kostspieligen In-App-Kaufs. Nach etwas Recherche bin ich auf Captize gestoßen. Was soll ich sagen? Die App bietet alles, was ich brauche. Ich habe direkt die Pro-Version gekauft und bin wirklich zufrieden.

Automatisches Scannen nervt
Welche weltfremden Programmierer kommen auf die Idee, die App automatisch ständig drauf los zu scannen zu lassen - auch wenn es nichts zu scannen gibt?! Da scannt man die Seite 1, legt das Handy beiseite, um das Dokument umzublättern, hebt das Handy hoch - und zack, scannt die App los. Den leeren Tisch! Weil man noch gar nicht dazu gekommen ist, das Handy über das Dokument zu halten. Macht Sinn! Und kundenorientierte Programmierer meinen wenigstens nicht, dass sie die Wünsche des Kunden in- und auswendig kennen und ermöglichen es einem, in den Einstellungen selbst auszuwählen, ob man automatisch scannen lassen oder manuell scannen möchte.

Disappointing
If you’re in the middle of scanning a multi page document, DO NOT leave the app to answer a text or for any other reason because you WILL LOSE what you’ve done so far. Save first. But if you don’t remember to save, you’re going to lose a lot of progress and have wasted a bunch of time.
Also won’t let you use some pro features even if you have purchased the Pro version.
Need to fix these items ASAP.
Will not use or recommend this app to anyone unless fixed.

Supposedly I was to get a lifetime pro offer for free; however, Apple just charged me $12.98! Upon double-clicking to get my "free" offer, the Apple/Visa card charge popped up. Beware this developer! I will report them if I can.

I love it!
No app satisfies everyone 100% in terms of functionality, features, and aesthetics. But for me, this app is pretty darn close.
In addition to expected features inherent in a good PDF editor such as filling out forms, annotation, document signing, etc., Captize incorporates some goodies I like a lot. The following is a list of things I like and things I consider missing or that could be improved:
The Positive
- The app looks good, is intuitive, and easy to navigate.
- Individual files can be password-protected.
- Built-in scanner.
- Dedicated screen for business cards.
- Reminders.
- The developer is very customer-oriented.
The Negative—With Suggestions
- The library could be where folders are kept, or can be done with it and just keep the folders screen. In my opinion, there is no need for both.
- A better implementation of merging and splitting files.
- No screen rotation. It would be nice to have it.
- Individual files could be password-protected with a single, predefined password, the same as in Apple Notes.
- No password protection for individual folders. It would be great to have this option.
With that said, Captize is a fantastic PDF editor with an amazing feature set. I can’t wait to see where the developer takes it from where it is today.
