LET ME LOOK AT SAVED ARTICLES
Absolutely infuriating that I can not look at anything I have saved.
Good design, missing key features
The Phys app has been a great source for me to read current articles and news. But the app is missing two very important features:
1) There’s no search option. I can’t search for keywords of topics that I’m interested in, so I’m just at the whim of what the app presents. This option is available on the browser version, why not the app?
2) You can’t sync your ScienceX account to the app. So any saved articles don’t transfer over to the app.
If these two issues were fixed, I’d use this app much more!

Can’t log in
Can’t log in to my existing subscription like I do on the website
The app crashes when you tried to view saved articles
If you try to click on the little heart to view your favorite articles, you are met with crash. The end. No articles. No fix.
Update: if you uninstall and reinstall, and then choose the restore purchase option, you can now access your favorite articles folder, which is completely empty.

App crashes to view saved articles
I love this site and was excited to get the app. I got the app about a year ago or so and noticed immediately the app would crash whenever I tried to view saved articles. At first I thought the app was still getting figured out and didn’t mind it. But till today, the app STILL crashes to view saved articles. The fact this simple bug still hasn’t been fixed is beyond me. Fix this simple bug and this app would get 5 stars. I don’t understand how this hasn’t been resolved.
Edit: this review was written almost a year ago and unfortunately it seems the app/site developers could care less about resolving an extremely inconvenient and frustrating bug. I recommend reading articles from this site as you get the best source of immediate scientific news and research updates but anybody that can reach out to the direct developers, please do and let them know about this unfortunate feature. In the app, trying to open my saved articles list causes the app to crash.

Been trying my hardest to really use this app as a source of information, yet every time I try to click on my saved articles the app crashes.

This is an awesome app for the people interested to be up to speed with the modern science related advancements! There are no ads and the experience is smooth! I would recommend it 100%.

Terrible flicker
Articles are nearly impossible to read as they flicker and reset back to the top constantly.

App no longer working after ios17 upgrade
It won’t open and the developer won’t help
I really love this app when it works. After the last IOS update, it refuses to open. I’ve tried contacting the developer on their site but their Capcha isn’t working so I can’t submit a request for help. How can I restore this app so it works again?

Stopped work…
This app stopped working on my iPad after updating to the latest version of IOS. But, the app works on my iPhone after the latest update.

Website is much better
Phys.org website has ads, but that’s much better than being forced into a subscription with this app if I want to read more than ‘Spotlight’ articles.
Excellent App
Wonderfully informative and well formatted. I use this app every night. Dark mode needs to change the blue color highlights to a lighter colour because It is impossible to see in low light.
Why serve ads when I’ve subscribed?
also blue hyperlinks are hard to read when in dark mode on with low screen brightness
Decent app for science news mixed with propoganda
Some of the articles are great and extremely fascinating.
You'll have to dig for them though.
The junk science the app routinely sends notifications about is climate change misinformation.
Turn off notifications and ignore what they push and the app could be a solid two stars. Not much more because you still have to skim through all the propaganda.

Unreadable
The dark blue typeface used for hyperlinks renders it unreadable against the black background. You need a lighter colour.
Crashing IPad Air 5th
When I try open the app it crashes so I can’t see any content atm

This app would be great if it was supported by iPadOS 16’s Stage Manager mode…
