Just awful
I should have read other reviews. I'm a Grade 3 pianist & need to catch up on about 3 years of sight reading. I'm an adult learner pianist. I had absolutely no clue how to work this. There was no help / clue whatsoever. You seemingly had to memorise music from a previous screen to answer any questions. £5.00. I'm still cross about this now. I couldn't work out the Grade 1 sight reading. So un-user friendly - utterly useless as a tool to help sight reading.

Audio doesn’t work on iPadOS 18.6.2 (22G100)
I had used this app with success with my students for years. Sometime during this summer or early autumn, the audio stopped working. It’s only needed for the rhythm match exercise, but the other exercises are locked behind the rhythm one, making the app unusable. ABRSM customer support does not respond. My guess is that there is nobody left supporting this app at ABRSM with a new OS comes out that breaks the audio.

Illogical memory test
To be frank im surprised this is affiliated with ABRSM. The ‘practices’ consist of memorising a score then answering questions around the notes, for example ‘ what was the last note placed on the left hand’ when you cannot defer back to the page. Learning music isn’t about memorising scores. Who on earth invented this rubbish!

Really bad ap
Deleted after 5 minutes. Waste of my time and money. It makes you do some music games to “unlock” sight reading? Do not call it sight reading trainer then and get midi piano connection or it makes no sense. Sight reader app with the owl is fantastic.
Terrible
First game is ‘hear the rhythm’ but the sound doesn’t work, regardless of how much times I reinstall. Waste of money
terrible
sound does not work
trying to get my money back, no answer so far

Doesn’t work
“Please listen to the rhythm”…
Silence.
Silence.
Sound?!
I haven’t been able to use it yet as no sound. Reading through the reviews it appears that I can only use sound through headphones?! I’m a teacher so how can I work through this with pupils if we can only listen through headphones? Very frustrating as the app wasn’t free and currently is no use to me…

PIANO SIGHT READING TRAINER
Rip off app is called piano sight reading trainer you have to pass training levels before you can unlock the sight reading trainer level
No sound
I purchased this app with great intention. However, there is no way of listening to the sound? How am I supposed to answer questions on a rhythm being played back to me if I cannot hear it??
Application does not work!
There is no sound when you run the rhythm part. Not sure if anything else works, but just asking for a refund as without sound it’s pretty useless
Great idea, no audio?
Great idea and would be so fantastic if I could hear the audio for the rhythm tests.
Please fix the bugs because I love the idea!

Not really fit for purpose
I am a teacher, and I thought it would be good to look at this for my students.
Not only is the app quite clunky to use and not particularly intuitive, the entire premise is flawed.
The rhythm matching is ok - but limited. A more holistic approach to it would help.
The pitch matching is just awful. It requires you to memorise the entire passage, then asks you questions on it. This doesn’t match in any way with the way most people sight-read music. It would be so much better if it could listen to you at the piano, something like Simply Piano, and judge that way. I don’t really think this particular method would ‘train’ anyone to sight read music. More focus on relative pitch would be good too, rather than memorising note ranges.
The whole experience is sadly disappointing and I would advise spending your money elsewhere.

Sound does not work
The sound does not work in my app, and there’s no place to send a feedback.
Don’t buy!
I read the reviews and bought anyway. I’m a piano teacher and thought I’d find enough in it across the different levels it was worth it. There’s no sound which makes it useless. Also there’s a timer on everything which I think would stress out most pupils. I’ve requested a refund.
App won’t play sound
Absolute waste of money as the app won’t play any sound making it impossible to complete the exercises.
Happy to amend review if fixed or developer contacts me with a solution.

Sight reading option is locked
I paid £5 to download the app only to find that the sight reading option is locked.
Not working
App does it work despite having paid to download. No sound from app and feedback says wrong answers.
Hidden sound issue
When I first used the app there was no sound and I searched in vain for hours to find a missing control which might restore it. It was only by chance that I stumbled upon the answer - that there is sound but it can only be heard through earphones. Ridiculous. Developers at least give us the option to listen to the app how we please.

Sound issue
I have just purchased the app. I can see from other comments NOW that this app only works with headphones. I would not have bought it if I knew that to be the case. I just assumed an official ABRSM app would be higher quality.
