About
PigeonTrail follows the stamped letters you mail to your buyers. You print our USPS Intelligent Mail barcode on the envelope, add a Forever stamp and drop it in the mail. Each time USPS sorts the letter on one of its machines, the scan comes to PigeonTrail, and the app shows you where the letter is, how far along it is and the day USPS expects it to arrive. Most of the sellers who use it ship trading cards in plain white envelopes, where a tracked package would cost more than the card inside.
Today opens on a live map of every letter you have in the mail. Each one is a small pigeon sitting at the last place USPS scanned it, and the ones that moved since you last looked fly their latest hop when the map opens. Under the map are the letters that need you, such as one that fell behind USPS's schedule, a quick letter waiting for an address fix, or orders waiting to be printed.
Every letter has its own page with its route drawn on a real map, each scan with its city and time, and the day USPS expects it. Tap Replay the trip and the map flies from your town to each place USPS scanned the letter, with a caption at every stop. The page also gives you a short message with the tracking link that you can paste into your marketplace, so your buyer can follow the letter too.
When you head to the mailbox, open Scan and slide your stack of envelopes past the camera. The app reads the barcode on each one, shows the buyer's name and adds it to the run, and when you tap Done, those letters are marked mailed. Scans you make without a signal wait on the phone and go out when you are back online. The mail run is included with PigeonTrail Pro, and on every account Look up opens any letter as soon as you hold its barcode up to the camera.
Insights tells you in a few plain sentences how many letters you printed, how many USPS scanned and marked delivered, and how long a typical letter took. A map of the states is shaded by how long your letters take to reach each one, so you can see where the mail runs slow.
You can turn the orders waiting in your account into letters, or write a quick letter to someone from your contacts, and print the envelopes with AirPrint on the printer you already have.
Widgets on your Home Screen show how many letters are in the mail and how many are behind. A Live Activity follows your latest mail run on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and notifications tell you when USPS first scans a letter, when it marks one delivered and when one falls behind.
Sign in with your email address and the 6 digit code we send you, or with a passkey. If you are new to PigeonTrail, the same steps open a free account, and you can delete your account at any time in Settings.
USPS scans letters on its sorting machines rather than at the mailbox, so the first scan comes when a letter reaches a plant and a day can pass between scans. When USPS marks a letter delivered, that comes from the carrier's route for the day, because nobody scans a letter at the door.
