Type any brand or active ingredient and Pillo shows you what it's called in the country you're in right now - plus what it's called back home, side by side - so you can say the right word at either pharmacy. SCAN A PILL Take a photo and Pillo uses on-device OCR to read imprint codes, estimate shape, colour, and size, then compare results against a curated database. When no imprint is visible, Pillo provides an appearance-only suggestion clearly marked as low confidence. SCAN A STRIP OR BOTTLE Point your camera at medicine packaging and Pillo extracts the medicine name automatically. LIVE LOOKUP For medicines outside the bundled travel database, Pillo queries NIH RxNorm / RxNav and openFDA data sources to provide ingredient and availability information. APPLE INTELLIGENCE On supported devices, on-device Foundation Models generate a short traveller briefing for each medicine. A curated offline guide is used when Foundation Models are unavailable.
