Great app!
Wishlist (possibly user error):
- ability to click on photos to enlarge them
- place to input race times
- ability to do a winners bracket between the dens
- ability to change group of racer after saving (seemed to be locked)
- summary pdf of all races
App did glitch a bit when using, but I messed around for a bit & it worked again. Thank you for this app! It was a blessing to have for our derby.
Not functional and crashed
Great App but…
1. Some sort of pre registration, then allowing us to check in after we weigh the cars. Registration took over 30 minutes because I was the bottleneck on the app.
1b. Or, having the ability for multiple devices hooked to the same event so we could double the speed of registration.
2. Ability to edit registrations after they are created. Had a few kids put into the wrong groupings, so we had to delete them and start over.
3. Randomized races. If the next race car is the fastest, and yours is also great, you’ll race them 3 times and you’ll have no chance of hitting the podium.
4. Have the tie breakers happen BEFORE the pdf is created. It was really confusing having multiple race pdfs to figure out the finishers. Related, the tie breakers assigned new race car numbers, which meant finding the cars was tricky. Thankfully we took pictures.
Overall it went well, and we’ll likely use again.

Thank you for using Pinewood Racing as your derby manager. I expect a big update to be done this summer. There is a lot of room for improvements and your suggestions are really great. Looking at your comments (1), a speedy registration will certainly be in the works. Looking at something like self input on a device, display Qrcode, and race manager scans them in. (2) If any scout is put in wrong group, you can simply tap and hold then drag and drop them in right group. That is already in effect in app. (3)randomizing races and having multiple formats to choose from is in the works. (4) agree with you on handling tie breakers. I will look into how to handle that better. Thank you.

I would like to thoroughly investigate the issue and see if possible there is a bug on our end that can be fixed. Please give as much info as possible. Like number of scouts in group and number of lanes being chosen. From one scout leader to another I’d like to fix the problem so you can enjoy the ease of the app.

Good derby app
Good app needs a little tweaking but made our race go well.
Glitchy
Also, great for determining first place, but will not prompt for a tiebreaker at third place and I could not find a way to select and track only 2 kids to run my own tiebreaker.
Overall, very frustrating experience. Won’t use again.
