Works well

The app works well and does what it’s supposed to do. It’s nice to be able to track my dogs’ activity, especially since one of them needs to lose weight. I really got the devices attached to this app for the GPS function. The app works fine for that as well. Any issues I’ve had so far come from the device itself not connecting; nothing to do with the app.

Tracker

I’ve had a PitPat since 2020 been really pleased so far but I can’t update my dog weight!

My dog freaked out and bolted

While they were out on a walk in the country side with our dog walker, one of my dogs was spooked by another passing dog. We temporarily forgot she had Pitpat on (yes we panicked!) but Pitpat directed us to her immediately within minutes! So thank you Pitpat

Terrible app

I got this through biscuit to earn more coins for walking but I’ve given up after 3 devices have failed and the app being so buggy that it works about once a week. It just freezes all the time and doesn’t allow you to connect to the device! I’ve reinstalled countless times. Avoid!

Anxious dog

My parents asked me to look after their anxious dog while they're away. I live in a different city to them. I never take the tracker off her collar. I honestly don't know how she jumped the fence but she did and just ran off. It took 60 seconds for pitpat to locate her but the location was precise and in 5 minutes I was able to get her after driving to the location (luckily main road). It would've been a different kind of a week for all of us if it wasn't for pit pat. Thank you.

Missing so much

I’d like to share this with my dog walker but I don’t want them to be able to track my dog 24/7 knowing my own location. It would be ideal to have a schedule when users are able to track so you can set work days during work hours when dog walker has my dog

Update 2.35.27

Since this update has been released we haven’t been able to track our dog. All other areas of the app are ok. This is either the app or Vodafone which by normal starters isn’t great either.

Gps

Upgraded to GPS, takes ages to connect, when it does though it lags a bit, but a usfull

Needs A Network Refresh Feature

We have two PitPats, one for each of our spaniels. You would think they would both work on the same network configuration given that they are both in the same location. But they don’t one consistently has minimal signal and drains the battery significantly more than the other. Weirdly they seem to alternate as to which one is different. They’ve been doing for ages now. The strange thing is when I reported it to the developers 8 months ago they said they were working on a way to refresh the network but clearly that hasn’t happened.

App is awful

App regularly doesn’t load and the GPS is sketchy at best.

Terrible - if I could give zero stars I would.

I’ve had the device for 24 hours.
It’s had a full charge as is already down to 10% battery.
I went out for an hours walk where my phone had full signal. The device failed to connect to any network.
Every time I go to use the app it is slow and crashes.
If you ask to ‘find my dog’ it just says ‘connecting to satellites’ and does nothing.
Will be asking for the full refund.

Not at all impressed so far

And my THREE star could easily become a ONE star as so far it wont snyc up. Bought it for the gps tracking but the app requires you to complete or at least opt out of a bunch of time wasting questions that are unrelated to my use but instead relate to the fitness tracker. Hey Pitpat !!! At least have enough respect for customers time to build the app in such a way that I’m not forced to answer BS questions that are totally irrelevant to my use. Feels like another one of these companies that thinks they’re oh so clever with Apple like packaging and some iconography and that should somehow make up for a pure lack of common sense.

Amazing

Really impressed with how it collects my dog’s activity data. Super easy to set up, quick and easy account creation, and love the personal and tailored profile.

Rubbish!

I’ve bought two of these trackers for my Labradors and I’m sure they’re great but I can’t find out now I actually need to track one of them because the app is absolutely terrible! It Juson me off the site every time it almost connects, so I’ve had to delete it and reinstall it. I’ve o my had the system 2 days, at this rate it’ll be going back for a full refund 😡

Can’t even get started

Looking after my parents dog for a week and the app won’t let me create an account or log in. Just fails or times out. No explanation. So not much use at all really when I can’t get past the first screen. Just glad it isn’t my dog and I haven’t paid for a device that doesn’t work.

Yes and No

One good thing about PitPat is that it’s a one off payment. If it wasn’t I’d have returned it fairly quickly as it seems to be tied to Vodaphone which are hopeless in this area and it can take ages to find satellites. The other good things are that it’s battery lasts several days and the way it attaches to the dogs collar is simple but secure and charging it is via a supplied charging pad. The App on the other hand is a bit of a joke. My dog is an English Pointer and although he is young and runs like the wind, if you believe the App, he’s running 10 miles a day! Rubbish. Then there’s the activity breakdown which seems to be a bunch of random numbers which I can’t find any explanation of, which when you look at the distance he’s supposed to be running are largely meaningless. Then there’s all the naff badges and awards that he’s supposed to be achieving which might be amusing to a 10 year old but are quite honestly embarrassing. Overall, it’s okay; it would get me to the general area if he ran off, but only if the satellites are in view and logged on, and it was in an area with good mobile coverage. Where I live, we walk mostly in wooded areas and the performance is pretty variable. With experience you get to know where it’s bad and keep a good eye open. But life is full of surprises and when in a bad area it’s almost guaranteed that will be when he chooses to run off. As it’s a lump of plastic and metal it naturally ends up under his chin which obviously doesn’t help with being detectable. But it’s better than nothing. The App is naff and if it logged on quicker I’d give it 4 stars.

Happy Puppy

This App is amazing. Our BullMastiff was lost in a storm for 48 hours in the country. He ran from anyone he didn’t know so having our phone number on his collar didn’t help. We were lucky to find him and with this App we will not loose him again. We track him and can tell if he has left the yard. Peace of mind is important and we now have that.

Location Display

The new location display is very informative, a great improvement for more technically minded amongst us
It will aid the location speed expectations.
The exercise recording remains excellent

Ok when it works….

Takes way too long to find dog or says out of coverage.
Put it back on charger as advised, it then thinks it’s permanently on the charger.
Just not reliable enough to be able to rely on it.
The time you need it, guess what it says out of coverage….

Battery life poor

My main complaint is that the battery life of the GPS tracker is very poor. It last less than 24 hours. Charge overnight and by mid afternoon the tracker is down to 6% or less and so records nothing.
Tracking the dog location itself seems very slow.
It has interesting information on the dog’s activity but the app itself seems more focused on selling membership of the ‘pack’, food and insurance.
Overall not worth purchasing.
