This App Has Made The Wrong Changes
I have religiously used this app for over 10 years. I built my financial life around it. It used to be amazing, but something changed.
The amount of adds (some even stating my phone has a virus) has gotten out of hand. There are also new glitches appearing. Today is August 6th 2026, when I logged onto my app I now have a mile long list of past due bills from 2023. This happens every few months. I thought they would address it but they haven’t. My favorite app is now a nuisance and will likely be deleted.

Annoying ads
App would be great if I didn’t have to shut it down every 2 seconds because of annoying ads
Great idea, but…
I loved the app. It is simple to use and kept me on track with my money but this is the second time that an update has deleted my history of transactions. The first time it happened, I was told that there is no fix but that it won’t happen again. Well it happened again. Sorry but there’s better options.

Simple & Powerful
I am using this app for many years and it almost fulfil all my requirement. A great app with friendly UI and easy to use. What I am missing is multiple currency option for additional accounts. Its a must needed feature and the developers should work on this to make this app complete.
I bought lifetime but they keep taking it away!
I bought lifetime, why do you keep taking it away when you update the app! Please help, it’s a good app if they would stop taking away my lifetime that I bought!!!
lost all my information
With the New Update I lost all my information and previous inputs. That a total bummer! Really disappointed
Glitchy & Slow
App used to be decent and worked well. Now it constantly freezes and double counts bills giving you bad information that you have go through to find when it counts twice. It doesn’t restore well from backups and loses a lot of data when restoring from backups when changing phones.
Ridiculously slow
Loved the app for years but since last update it is ridiculously slow. Takes at least 30 secs to move from one transaction to the next. Some bug fixes required I think.
Loved it but data was deleted
I had an issue with my data being deleted, as others have noted with the recent update, but the data has now been restored. I am updating my review to four stars because I have used and loved this app for many years, but I still say beware. It might be a good idea to back up your data somewhere (they allow you to export data in excel sheets).

Online Syncing Destroyed the App
The online/data connection required is ruining the app. Constant bugs and performance issues due to poor syncing and terrible data ingestion/server management.
To fix this app it NEEDS an optiont to go back to fully LOCAL / OFFLINE data. The syncing totally breaks and resets all my bills with old bills, resets any edited items, un-clears thousands of items. It also makes the app unbearably laggy, which was not an issue before when it fully used local data.
It seems like it usually happens when you open the app with a shoddy connection. But not consistently. Pure garbage and felt like the online features just randomly slop-coded in.

9 years of Data Wiped by Update / No Support Reply
Be aware!!!!! Do not install the latest update!!!!
I really do enjoy this app and have been using it faithfully since 2017. After the wipeout, 2 emails have been sent, but no response yet.

Best app for personal or business
I tried many apps to monitor my expense but nothing like this app ,my advice to you just use this app ...! This was my review before
But now if I want to write a transaction I have to wait or turn again because it getting freezing all time

Data loss with latest update
The app was updated last week and the data loss occurred. I have been seeing this from past few updates consistently. The app is great and would be better if this can be avoided
Data Disappeared
Have been using this app for years and suddenly all recent data was lost!
Fantastic app
However facing issues.. when opening the app says its update your data and please don’t leave.. and then it’s stuck at 98%… doesn’t get beyond that.. hope the issue will be resolved soon. Even closing and opening or even switching off the phone doesn’t change this.. sync doesn’t work
Latest update restored data but..
The latest update restored my data. I was really happy to see 10 years of data restored. As I was entering my expenses from the last 2 months I noticed another bug, the window to enter the amount is not complete. The “0” “.” And enter is not visible, which makes this version totally useless. Hopefully this gets fixed soon

Crashes every time I use it.
As many others already noted, I lost years worth of data last year. Because I want to keep an eye on my checking and savings accounts, I decided to keep using Pocket Expense and just did a balancing adjustment to start fresh. I haven’t lost all my data yet (fingers crossed), but the app crashes after every entry I make. I make an entry, wait for it to clear, scroll up, and it crashes. I then open the app again to make a new entry and wait for it to crash again. Thankfully it accepts the entries, but I have to wait for the crash after every single entry. It is becoming unusable, and I may finally move on even though I purchased the lifetime subscription.

Update needs work
Loved this app before the update - freezes, tap icons are slow, and crashes. I even emailed the developer about it and did not receive a reply. Actively looking for a new app at this point unless a fix is made soon.
What’s happened…
I’ve been happily using this app for a number of years without any problems. Since the last update everything has gone strangely wrong and is no longer accurate. My balances have changed and I can’t see where the problem is..
