Difficulty Spike
A0 is incredibly easy. The second you hit A1 the difficulty spikes beyond comprehension. The user goes from simple sentences instantly to multiple paragraphs of words never covered.
App needs work
I changed avatar to Raika and I can not hear any avatar. I also changed to A1 and still no volume with any avatar. This is disappointing.
Not better than typical AI
This is the third or fourth AI app I have used to practice Spanish. I’m a pretty decent Spanish speaker already. And I have to say, ChatGPT is much better. Praktika makes you press a button every time you want to speak, which is not how their advertisements on YouTube make it look and also not how natural conversations work. Second, I’m so tired of the subscription model that makes you pay for several months or a year because they know their product is mediocre and people won’t stick with it. I think this is AI capitalist garbage and if you want to use AI to learn language, just stick with your preferred basic AI platform.
