FAQ

What does the PreSonus QMix app do?

This app allows up to ten musicians to wirelessly control their individual monitor (aux) mixes from their iPhone or iPod touch. You can adjust each channel's send level and pan, or use the "Wheel of Me" feature to control the relative levels of multiple "Me" channels simultaneously.

What are the key features of the app?

Key features include wireless control of aux mix send levels and pan for all channels, the "Wheel of Me" for relative level control of designated "Me" channels, channel and aux naming, and the ability to lock orientation. It also offers an offline demo mode for exploration.

Is the PreSonus QMix app free to use?

Yes, the app itself is free to download and use. However, it requires specific hardware and software to function, including a PreSonus StudioLive-series mixer, a Mac or Windows PC running the latest Universal Control software, and a FireWire 400 connection between the computer and mixer.

What are the compatibility requirements for this app?

The app is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later. Your iOS device must be connected to the same wireless network as a computer running the latest Universal Control software, which in turn must be connected and synced to a StudioLive-series mixer via FireWire 400.

How can I use this app during a live performance?

During a live performance, musicians can each use their iPhone or iPod touch running QMix to adjust their personal monitor mix without needing to rely on a front-of-house engineer. This provides greater control and convenience for each performer, ensuring they hear themselves and the band clearly.
