Terrible Library Login Broken

Tried to log in using my Ballarat Library membership and it didn't work. Very disappointing. I will be using BorrowBox instead of this app. Very disappointing.

Great.News.Puzzles.Advice. All I need.Easy and in my hand any time

Search function

Very difficult to find the publications I am searching for. I search for New York Times and it pulls up 10000 instances of New Tork Tume but never the actual publication. Frustrating

Mary

Really enjoy Press Reader. I wake up very early so itsโ€™s great to be able to lie in bed and read the daily news.

Great app for news

I love this app which becomes my window to see the wonderful world everyday

Clunky and limited

It only lets you read one publication that you already subscribe to. I read the pdf of the NYTimes on the coattails of my subscription to NYT.com. But if I want to read the Guardian, which I also subscribe to, I must sign out if the app and open a new account with my Guardian credentials. They want you to sign up for the PressReader subscription in order to read multiple publications, so the opening screen is slow to load while it updates thousands of publications thumbnails.
Also, thereโ€™s no one there in terms of support, zero.

Magazines and papers

I get to read my favourite magazines when and where I want to ๐Ÿ˜Ž and no wasting paper

Cannot read items

Was linked to the local library. Several months ago lost access to the new items from. Useless hence was deleted

Library

Where the option to read for free with your local library?

Pretty much excellent

I use mine through the local public library, and itโ€™s the best thing the council do. Good range of newspapers and magazines available. Shame you canโ€™t filter by language/country. Also, screenshots are limited to 4, which is v low, 8 would be better.

Paper and digital Guardian

If I pay for the paper Guardian which is expensive, I should have free access to the online version. To have to pay twice is unreasonable.

The Economist tor FREE

You can read the Economist for free. Itโ€™s good and otherwise not a cheap subscription.

Great service

This service is great!

Press access

Keeps me up to date in a remote location, Hebrides, where some news print or magazines are not easy to get or gain access to

On a PC

Navigating through newspapers on a PC is a pain and needs improvement. The mouse scroll should act as zoom but instead it changes pages. When zoom is achieved in should stay in zoom as one changes pages

Easy readingg

I enjoy reading the Edinburgh evening news the guardian and the herald among others from time to time .

Information and news at your fingertips

A great asset and access to extensive number of publications and content
Fantastic - much enjoyed

Tremendous value to this senior

Excellent

I get to read more magazines than I could otherwise afford right on my phone!

More attention to detail in the scrolling version would be great

The app is really good at turning magazine pages into a scrolling, interactive experience suited to a phone.

However, there are obvious issues, for example with The Economist a lot of pages end up with โ€˜Contentsโ€™ in their heading because it hasnโ€™t understood the layout properly.

I do understand that from a technical POV itโ€™s very difficult to build a system that accommodates all layouts automatically.

However, Iโ€™d also argue that from a product POV there are a relatively small number of publications that are advertised as flagships โ€” The Economist being one of them โ€” so why not dedicate some time to understanding those most popular magazinesโ€™ layouts and doing them justice?

It is a benefit to PressReader too as it will improve retention. I do find myself wincing at the layout issues when Iโ€™ve also used the newspaperโ€™s own app which lays it out properly, and eventually might decide itโ€™s better to just pay the magazine directly.
