PRESTO E-Tickets are digital tickets that can be purchased and activated on your smartphone. They offer a convenient and touchless way to pay transit fares for specific transit agencies like Durham Region Transit, Hamilton Street Railway, and Oakville Transit.
Open the app, select an E-Ticket for your transit agency, activate it, and then scan the QR code on the barcode reader when boarding. The activated and scanned ticket on your smartphone serves as your proof of payment.
The PRESTO E-Tickets app itself is free to download and use. You only pay for the cost of the E-Tickets you purchase for your transit rides. There are no additional fees for using the app.
Currently, PRESTO E-Tickets are available for Durham Region Transit (DRT), Hamilton Street Railway (HSR), and Oakville Transit. Tickets are valid for travel on a single transit agency and do not integrate with loyalty programs or discounted transfers for PRESTO card users.
