About
The sky is falling in colour. Every meteor arrives tinted, and your cannon
fires whatever light you load into it. Dial in red, green and blue, match the
shade exactly, and one shot is enough. Miss the mix and the shot is spent for
nothing.
HOW IT PLAYS
Three sliders feed one barrel. A meteor the colour of deep violet needs red
and blue in the right measure; a pale one needs all three. Set the mix, aim,
fire. A perfect match destroys the meteor and pays half the light back into
your tanks. A near miss strips one channel and leaves the rest falling.
Light is finite. Every shot costs from the red, green and blue tanks, and the
tanks only refill from clean kills. Waste shots and you run dry with the sky
still full. The tension is not your reflexes, it is your accounting.
THE PRISM SURGE
Clean play overflows your tanks, and the overflow charges the Prism Surge.
Fire it and the cannon runs on every wavelength at once for a few seconds: no
dialling, nothing rejected, everything you touch dies. Tap it again to bank
what is left and save those seconds for a wave that needs them.
Let the Surge sit full and the overflow keeps going somewhere better.
THE CARD PICK
Overflow past a full Surge earns a pick. Three cards rise, turn face up so you
see what is on offer, turn back down, and shuffle. Choose one and keep it:
- PAUSE freezes the sky for five seconds
- SLOW drops every meteor to a third speed
- REWIND sends them back up the way they came
Bank enough overflow and the jokers disappear from the deal, until every card
on the table is worth having. Hold up to nine and play them when a wave turns.
GATES
Every five waves the sky stops and you spend what you scored. Widen a colour
tank, reinforce the dome, or deepen the Surge. Trade light between colours
when one channel runs dry and another is brimming. Prices climb as you buy, so
a run is a series of choices about what you can afford to go without.
THE DAILY CHALLENGE
One run a day, and the same meteors in the same order for everyone playing
that day. No retries. Your score is whatever you managed on the sky everyone
else got.
ALSO IN THE BOX
- 12 achievements, from a single clean kill to eighteen meteors inside one Surge
- 9 skins that change the sky, the planet and the stars, including seasonal ones
- A local score board that remembers your best runs
- Built for portrait, one hand, any length of sitting
NO NONSENSE
No ads. No accounts. No timers asking you to come back tomorrow. Nothing to
buy. The whole game plays offline, on a plane, in a tunnel, with the wi-fi off.
Prisma Defender is a game about reading a colour correctly under pressure, and
about what it costs you when you read it wrong.
