Shadowing at lightning speed.

I wish there was a way to slow the cadence down a bit. It’s very difficult to “shadow” at such a fast pace as a beginner.

Get Duolingo instead

Do not get this app! I paid for 3 months to learn Japanese. It was fine until I went to continue my course but it said that my course was completed and that I should explore another course. I only know 80 words in Japanese and the all clearly states that I’m a beginner. But it won’t let me continue to learn!! I’ve tried to contact the app but it’s an AI assistant that did not solve the problem!! So save your money and get Duolingo instead.

It's a different way of learning

The different exercises challenge me to expand my skillset. The ad hoc conversation exercises are really good for my understanding and speaking, especially the post exercise review. The multidirectional vocabulary exercises are very good for promoting memory.

Not happy with updates

I have chosen this app specifically for ability to revisit the units, because I need to be able to go through material multiple times to really learn it. I paid for family membership of the previous version of the app (over $100). Now I am deeply unhappy with design and trying to get my refund. Responses from customers service (humans, not AI) take several days. I am hoping they will refund me, because new setup is exactly why I decided not to sign up with other apps.
