enlightening

i don’t usually write reviews. but i felt compelled to write one for this app.

long story, short. this has been a really enlightening app for me. i’ve been an avid journaler for a long time and heard of the app from a friend. after downloading and using it for a few weeks, i was able to learn a lot about my own thought patterns and understand my feelings.

there have been some entries where it hasn’t been completely smooth. but i also take into account that sometimes i can speak or write without stopping, or i am in a bad service area.

i’ve found that the responses are better targeted when i am able to go through my thoughts slowly. and that has also in turn helped me to just… think slower and more presently. not to rush or over explain.

i would recommend this app to anyone. and have.

It’s good but…

I don’t understand why we need to pay weekly or annually to take care of our own well-being. No one should put a price on someone’s mental health because that feels wrong, especially if they don't have the income to pay for it. At the very least, there should be a free plan

Love this app. Wish you didn’t have to pay weekly and wish it would save all progress automatically. I wrote so much yesterday and nothing saved because I didn’t press done.

Hey, really appreciate the love for the app, and sorry you lost your writing. That shouldn't have happened. A couple of things worth knowing. There is a monthly plan if weekly isn't your thing. You can switch to it by going to iPhone Settings, tapping your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Purpose. And the auto-save issue you mentioned has since been fixed, so entries now save automatically as you go. Thanks again for the support, it means a lot. The Purpose team

Doesn’t Work :(

I love the concept of the app and would pay for it, but unfortunately it CONSTANTLY errors out and I have to repeat my response every other message. It’s very frustrating and takes me out of the process. It seems unable to compute more than simple sentences as any time I introduce a complex thought or emotion, this seems to cause it to error out.

You're right that constant errors completely break the flow, especially in an app that's supposed to help you slow down and think. We've since addressed the errors, sped up response times, and improved how the app handles longer and more complex entries. It should feel much smoother now, even with the deeper stuff.
