FAQ
What is Purr's main purpose?
Purr is designed to be a neighborhood cat map where users can discover and pin local cats. It also serves as a reunion engine for lost cats, allowing neighbors to report sightings.
How does Purr handle lost cat reports?
Users can post a 'LOST CAT' flyer within the app. New sightings nearby are matched against the lost cat's description, and leads are ranked. Neighbors can easily report sightings of the specific cat.
Does Purr have ads?
No, Purr does not contain advertisements. The app is free to use, with an optional tip jar for users who wish to contribute.
What kind of information is available for each cat?
Each cat's page includes hand-drawn details based on descriptions, such as coat, pattern, and temperament. Cats are animated to appear alive, and their pages reflect their spotting location, time, and current weather.
How does Purr ensure user privacy?
Pins on the map do not carry user names. Public locations of collared cats are blurred to a city block. Photos are stripped of location data, and users can delete their account and all associated data at any time within the app.
What are the 'XP and badges' in Purr?
Users can earn experience points (XP) and collect badges for various actions within the app, such as 'First Contact' or 'Guardian Angel.' There are also collectible trading cards for local legends.
Is Purr available on all devices?
Purr is currently supported on iPhone and iPad devices, as indicated by the provided data.
How often is Purr updated?
The latest version of Purr is 1.3.1, which was last updated on August 30, 2026. This suggests a relatively active development cycle.
