Ludovic, Please fix or make open source—Stopped finding places
In November, 2025, the Quantified Map app “Could not load places around this location” when trying to assign a place (name) to an “Unknown place.”
This kills the usefulness of this app!
Ludovic, are you available to fix this? When it happens, I cannot even enter a private place as an alternative.

Perfect for what I need!
I used the google maps feature to track my movements and it was sadly lacking. This app does literally EVERYTHING I need and “just works” most of the time. There are a few interface glitches but, considering the app hasn’t been updated in a long time, I’m very pleased indeed with it.
Used to be a great app but not maintained
Unfortunately I’m still having the same issues as the previous reviewers. (Nearly) every attempt to edit a location fails because it cannot find nearby locations. If the one you want is private or doesn’t happen to be in the nearby locations suggestions you’re out of luck.
Even before that it was getting worse in other areas like figuring out proper segment splits. I’d have to merge ‘Home’ 10 times for what should have been a continuous segment. Or go into a ‘location’ with clear driving segments and split it up manually.
And there’s always been issues with nearby location searches. In dense areas, the available locations to switch to are very limited. And the search bar only checks within that existing limited list. It would ideally return all locations within a given distance, rather than some arbitrary max number. And if you search for a location by name and in finds nothing, it should go search further away.

It is very convenient, helps me understand my daily life, and is easy to use.
I have been using it for about three years.
However, the following message suddenly appeared, and I became confused because I could no longer specify the place.
When I search for the location of “unknown place” with “find the place,” the message “Could not load places around this location!” appears, and I can no longer specify the place.

Unresponsive?
The app is not clear how to use. No option to start tracking session, doesn’t show location, won’t import gpx.
Accurate but Drains Battery
I have been using another app similar to this for six years, but the cost and lack of updates became prohibitive so I found Quantified. My only gripe so far in the little time I’ve been using it, is the battery drain. The previous app I used (LifeCycle) didn’t drain my battery that way even though it used my location all the time. I will use it for today and if it drains my battery too much, it will have to go. I usually get a full day from my phones battery and I don’t want to impede that if I can help it.

Excellent App In Its Day - Appears to be Abandoned
This app does one thing really well… tracks your movements throughout the day. You can get a timeline view, a map view or a stats view.
It gets your location and movements pretty well. Though you do often have to go in at the end of the day and fine tune your location. I also find that it never knows when I go to the car wash (maybe because I’m moving the entire time). But you can go back and select the specific location, how you were moving from place to place (car, bus, walking, cycling, etc) and add locations.
But here’s the bad news. As of this review (4/22/2024), the app hasn’t been updated in 10 months. I also emailed support multiple times and even reached out to the developer on his social media - no response.
Some features are starting to show their age and don’t work. Specially, sharing your stats doesn’t work. And you can’t even share your timeline… which to me is the best graph.
Also, and this is huge, there appears to be no backups and no way to manually backup your data. So no syncing or backing up to Dropbox or Google and no sharing to other devices. If your data gets corrupted it’s going to all be gone. Why spend months collecting data if it’s never backed up or shareable. Developer is also not keeping up with iOS updates.
I hope the developer regains interest or sells the app to someone willing to keep it going - it really is the best tracking app I’ve ever found. But I imagine it will be completely gone in the near figure.

Great App!
This is a great App. The only thing missing is the ability to manually and automatically export in GPX format.
What’s the catch?
You don’t collect personal data and it’s free? It’s not open source, so it’s hard to verify the claim. I’d happily pay for a license, but it just seems too good to be true.

Not accurate at all
The app didn’t recognize half of my bicycle rides today or the places I actually visited. Instead it recognized a traffic light stop as a place I went to.
It’s useless as a tracker. I’d spend more time fixing the mistakes than if I put all the info manually.

Love this app but one issue
Great app love it because I keep forgetting to tell my Apple Watch I’m starting a walk.
One issue. I write my own apps that uses location. And the default location for london is trafalgar sq. I noticed it appear in my daily walks even if I was nowhere near there that day. I think it’s because I debug my own app by sending a test location from the debug console in Xcode. We need a way to delete a location entry from a timeline.

Great tracking app for where have you been
Better than a simple tracking app without telling where i have been. And better than using Google map for privacy reason.
The only issue after few days of using is how do i export and backup all my data?

Great Moves replacement
Great app. Used to love Moves. This is a great replacement for that. Does use quite a bit of battery but that’s expected with the background location usage.

Recently and historically noticed that photos on iCloud account have been getting removed from unknown SOuRces. Even though that I have utilized additional storage services they were not removed when I personally utilized those services and selected the remove and/or clean up features.
would like it, but..
it doesn’t show all the activities that the watch can track, i.e. i’m a skateboarder and it’s a high intensity activity.
would love to rate it higher as it’s reminiscent of Moves (which i liked before they shuttered) so i’ll keep an eye on it for new activities being added, but will keep it deactivated till then.

Great App
This is a great app, very accurate in its location and activity tracking, nice integration of photos. Very easy and reliable to use, too.
