The best option!
I loved this product; it's useful, interactive, and educational.
Misleading description
The description mentions QVtoGO Live, which should replace the need to use the actual QuietVox device and wired earpiece so the user could use their own iPhone and choice of wireless earbud/headphones while on a tour. However, I couldn’t find this function anywhere in the app, nor mention of it on the product’s website. Wasted download while on a cruise. It would be a great feature to allow us to use our own wireless headsets since the QuietVox device doesn’t support Bluetooth.

Terrible app
On a Scenic cruise the app was completely unusable. Ultimately we determined that the wi-fi was only sporadically connecting but there was no indication or troubleshooting available in the app — why couldn’t the developers at least notify that the app can’t connect? This would have saved aggravation of debugging on the fly.

Excessive data usage - beware
Turned on my mobile data as there was no wifi on the top deck of my river cruise ship - and in less than an hour this app had used nearly 5GB of data! That is totally excessive for a small amount of audio commentary.
Warnung! Verbraucht extrem viel Datenvolumen und Strom!
Nach nur 5 Tagen auf der Donau hat die App 81 GB an Daten gesaugt und mein Kontingent komplett verbraucht. Die Akus unserer IPhones waren nach 6h leer.
Die App hat zwischen Esztergom und Budapest gar keine Infos geliefert, sonst auch gelegentlich. Aber die Telefone wurden sehr heiß.
Wenn Infos abgespielt wurden, dann oft zweimal nacheinander. Das lässt sich auch nicht stoppen.
Insgesamt: Finger weg, wenn man auf mobiles Datenvolumen angewiesen ist. Die App ist mit einem Punkt bereits überbewertet.

Watch your data volume
This app used 11 GB data just sitting und the background doing nothing.

Perfect four tourists
It works like magic: you walk through the city with your headphones on and whenever you come across a monument or a historic place, a little audio-play starts play. Very very high end and high quality.
Can’t read required barcode
There should be another way to use this besides using the camera to read the device barcode since the barcode is worn off of the devices.

We are sorry for this inconvenience! Please mind that the app is not supposed to read QR codes on devices. It is intended to scan QR codes provided on either QV to GO City Map products or if explicitly asked, on river cruise ships to trigger commentaries en route.
