More “When to Water” Options !

When starting a program, there is a feature in the app for the day on which to start the program. It does not work. If you want to activate a program, you have to wait until the day before you want to start then manually activate it.

Bait and Switch

RainMachine was a wonderful product when I purchased it some 10+ years ago. After many years of use, the company decided to move to a subscription based service. While I still have the ability to control the app when I’m on my home network, I have to pay a fee to control it remotely. It’s like buying a car with a remote start feature that after years of usage, the manufacturer suddenly disables the feature unless you want to pay for it. Well, that’s not the deal I originally agreed upon. Stupid, stupid, stupid. It’s too bad because it WAS a good product but now is barely meh. Look elsewhere for an irrigation control system.

This app is worthless

We’ve had a Rain Machine controller for quite a while. They charge a yearly premium to access the controller remotely. It never works. Most of the time the app just sits and spins. I’ve tried Direct Access, Local Network Access and Remote Access. It is completely unreliable. If you need to control your sprinkler system from a distance, stay away from this app and its web brother. Horrible. Not worth a penny.

Pretty much useless

Can’t even connect direct after recent updates….

FAQ

What does the RainMachine app do?

The RainMachine app connects your iPhone/iPad to your RainMachine hardware, allowing you to control and adjust your watering cycles, change zones, set restrictions, enable weather services, and manage your garden irrigation remotely.

Is the RainMachine app free to use?

The RainMachine app itself is free to download and use. There are no fees associated with using the RainMachine device or the basic features of the app. However, an optional "RainMachine Premium Services" subscription is available for enhanced remote access through their cloud servers.

How can I access my RainMachine remotely?

You can access your RainMachine remotely in two ways. The "RainMachine Cloud Servers" offer enhanced remote access via a yearly Premium Services subscription. Alternatively, you can use the "Direct Access (Port Forwarding)" feature through your own internet router, which is free and does not require a subscription or cloud server access.

What are the requirements for using the RainMachine app?

The RainMachine iOS app requires the RainMachine sprinkler controller device, which is available for purchase separately. Some features may only be available for RainMachine devices sold starting in 2015.

How does RainMachine save water?

The app utilizes free, accurate, and local weather data from weather satellites to dynamically adjust your watering schedule. This ensures your garden receives the optimal amount of water based on current conditions, preventing overwatering and promoting a healthy garden while conserving water.
