Invasive Translation Popups & Severe ChatGPT Data Privacy Concerns
The continuous popups asking to translate every single message have completely ruined the user experience. Even worse is the massive privacy concern: Viber’s translation features are powered by third-party AI models like ChatGPT.
When translation prompts constantly push text to external services, it raises major red flags about private chat access, data exposure, and third-party data processing. Viber's core selling point was end-to-end encryption, but forcing third-party AI tools into private conversations destroys user trust.
Give us an option in settings to disable AI translations completely. Until users get full control over their privacy and UI, this app stays at 1 star.

Bad idea
To put chat GPT in Viber. It can't be turned off .You broke the app.
They will charge you for a subscription that you cannot cancel
They keep charging me $6 a month for a subscription that is impossible to cancel. Support says I have to cancel through the app store, but the subscription is not visible in the app store. When I mention this to them, they just say "Cancel it in the app store". They will take $6 from you against your will for years and there's nothing you can do about it.

Setup problem
A first it seems like an app that is the same as Messenger or WhatsApp, however right afterI tried to set up my account, I have run into the problem of it not accepting my valid number, used till the present day. It is needed for them to be able to give me a free call, and then type the last 4 digits of that caller as an activation code-and even though I have contacted the Help Service right away, they answered with a code to be sent to me which did not arrive either. I am now to wait 12 hours before trying again.

Unwanted ChatGPT
App used to be great. Now cluttered with unwanted chatgpt elements everywhere. Every single message pops up wanting ChatGPT to “polish” it. Privacy nightmare and useless in a casual chat app. No one’s writing essays in it.

Stop pushing Ai / chat GPT
The app has been great until recently. Now even with all the ai settings turned off it’s continually pushing the use of ai / Chat GPT. Fix this or you’ll find people will stop using the app.

Viber is still very good, but I must say it has dropped it’s top notch level:
Connection is easily lost for an unexpected and unexplainable reason, even when network is not bad.
I still love the voice call quality when all is fine.
This was the best ever app for me; for a couple of years I ditched the other popular app in favor of Viber and introduced (or sort of forced) my whole family and siblings to use it by default to get through to me, the way I loved it. Viber introduced the best user interface and sent text editing before the rest could even dream of it.
I would give this app all the stars had it not been for the drop in high quality as mentioned above in the past year. I still have faith Viber will improve and get back the No.1 spot and whole 5-Stars.

To much spam messages
I receive spam and scam messages from unknown numbers almost every day. Blocking individual numbers is not enough because new spam accounts keep appearing. Viber needs to improve its spam prevention and give users stronger controls to prevent messages from unknown numbers. Please take this issue seriously.

Ive had to delete the app multiple times as messages wont sent seems there no connection although i have full data coverage and other apps working fine.

Needs work
Been using Viber for many years. It got less friendly, buggy, with useless ads and without listening to users. Even the option to remove ChatGPT chat doesn’t work. You remove it from the settings menu but it remains in the chat list. It’s the details that make a difference and the aggressive policy of Viber just doesn’t work. Whatsapp is less flashy but everything works as advertised and without ads in your chat list.
