App failed
Had this app for a while, and now it says “Activation failed”. Plus this app collects a lot of my private data
Very disappointing experience with Viber Out 👎👎
I purchased a Viber Out package to call Nepal, but when I dialed the correct Nepalese number, the call connected to a completely different person. Sometimes, after the call was answered, I even heard what sounded like a recorded phone call or automated message instead of the person I was trying to reach.
This appears to be a serious call-routing problem. I contacted Viber Support expecting them to investigate or refund my unused credit, but I was simply told to contact Apple because the purchase was made through the App Store.
As a customer, this is extremely frustrating. I paid for a service that failed to connect me to the correct numbers, and when I reported the problem, I was passed to someone else for the refund.
Do not purchase a Viber Out package. In my experience, it feels like a scam you pay for the service, it doesn’t work properly, and then you are left to deal with the refund yourself.

Marked as Spam
Number for marked as spam. Haven’t had help whatsoever to resolve it. Sent multiple tickets, one said it was resolved. Don’t recommend the app, I just use it for work. Otherwise I wouldn’t be involved with this bs.

Chat GPT has no place in a chat app
I think I have just about had it with AI.
I use it at work purely because I have to I do not want to have to use it at home and I do not appreciate it being shoved down my throat every five minutes whilst using this app to talk to my friends.
I have made in settings that I do not want to use ChatGPT and yet every two minutes I get a prompt coming up telling me to connect to AI.
Does Rakuten really think that people are so stupid that they don’t know how to write a quick message anymore?

Absolutely disgusting decision to force ChatGPT into the interface with no way to actually remove it
I have used Viber for many years, but this is an absolutely unacceptable product decision.
Forcing ChatGPT into the Viber interface, with no way to actually remove it, is intrusive and shows a complete disregard for user choice. Users may be able to opt out of using the ChatGPT functionality, but they cannot remove the ChatGPT folder from their conversations or remove the ChatGPT button from the main bottom bar.
If I want to use ChatGPT, I can use the ChatGPT app. I do not need Viber forcing it into the middle of my private conversations and permanently occupying space in the interface.
There are plenty of alternative messaging apps available if Viber continues making decisions like this without giving users a genuine choice.

Notification
If the app is closed, I can't receive any messages. This is not true for WhatsApp and other apps. And it is not about the notifications.
Awful customer service - number blocked and no one will help unblock it
I just moved to Myanmar where most people are using Viber to communicate. After only three days of using the app my phone number was blocked. I tried contacting Viber Support multiple times but with no response. It has been eight days and I continue to miss out on critical information for my job because of this issue. Do not download this app.

“Optional” AI features
Make them actually optional instead of pushing them front and center, there is no “issue” with this besides your developers doing their jobs and putting it in the options settings as something to be toggled off, and you still expect me to pay for it?

After 7 years of use, all on the same number, they incorrectly blocked my number due to spamming activity - which did not exist.
Process to unblock is an impossible loop, all emails are automated and no resolution. Impossible to speak to an actual human. Disgusting.

Remove the photo filter of AI
App is awesome but this AI thing getting everywhere with AI filters, as soon as you are trying to sent new photo to someone the filters are floating there and take some seconds to unstuck the phone and say no thank you, just to sent normal pictures. Wish this feature would be optional based on enable / disable in the settings menu

There is too much junk cluttering up every page. It’s not user friendly. Often have problem making calls from Europe.
