Glitchy and can’t request tech support from creator
There’s supposed to be a feature where you can create your own story. It’s glitchy and only shows half the screen so you can’t in fact create your win story. When filling out a tech support request on their website you get a message that it’s “suspicious” and the request is blocked. Doesn’t do what it says it will do and you get no tech support to troubleshoot issues. Don’t waste your money.

Reading camp
It took me a while to figure it out, but I’m enjoying it now even though I’m an adult. I’ve been discovering that this shuts off when I hit enter to answer the question to see about more games .
So many great target skills!
I couldn't love this app more for all of the different comprehension skills that are targeted. It is great that you can hide the answer choices and story to fade the level of scaffolding. I also love that you can target higher level comprehension skills for older children.
Versatile
This app is useful for readers and kids who struggle with reading as it reads for them and they can still go back into the text to look for answers. A useful app that works on many language skills without bringing out the worksheets or a book.
Another good app from SE!
This is a great app to use to progress monitor. The stories are interesting and the kids stay engaged.
Great for older students too!
My life skills and LD students in high school love this app! Before I let them click the answer, I have the students explain why they are picking it and where they found the supporting information in the story. Then we check to see if they were correct. It helps the student learn to infer from the presented information. Most of my students are used to looking for matching words. If they do that, they have to explain if those matching words match the idea in the question. This app really helps the students learn the “how” part of answering questions.

Great 'Data Day' App
This is my go to app for my students working on questions, context clues and general reading comprehension. I can let a student listen to the story when working with another student. My students actually ask for it. They live to see their scores. With five levels, it works for all my elementary students.

Great App for a SLP!!
This is a must have for school age clients with reading or language goals. I love how the stories are broken down into levels and the quiz allows me to choose what types of questions I want to target!! This is a must have for school SLPs.
Awesome App!
I really enjoy using this app in my speech therapy sessions, and most importantly the children, seem to love it as well. This app is very engaging, and can be used to target various goals :)
Wonderful App for reading for meaning!!!
My second and third grader LOVES this app! The option of recording themselves as they read is very exciting and motivating for them. There are 11 different types of questions that are asked after each story. You have the option to modify the questions you want on the quiz or select the "All" option. I love to see their expression if they select the wrong answer, it drives them to want to do their best - PRICELESS... I would love to see more levels added and stories that are a little longer. Although, the stories do get more challenging as you get to the higher levels. This is my first review and it was worth writing it! Great App - thank you...

Great Reading App
I love how there are different levels of stories in this 1 app. There are all types of questions to answer after the story, including wh-, inferences, and sequencing. It's great that you can pick and choose which questions you want, depending on the client. You can also choose to have part of the text highlighted for students who need help locating answers within the story. The greatest part is that you can create your own stories!

Great app
My elementary and middle school kids enjoy the short stories. I love the highlighting function to help kids learn to refer back to the text when they don't know the answers to the questions in the quiz.
I like it.
There are different levels of stories for kids to read. It can be read to them. After you decide what type of questions they are going to answer. Good for kids in TIER process. I wish there was a virtual rewards system like language empires. There may be one we just haven't gotten that far yet.
Nice concept...
but falls a bit short. The stories aren't very long, and as I have found with a couple of other Smarty Ears apps, there are irritations (the one released prior to this one included numerous typos that weren't corrected until some time later). Just to give an example, paragraphs are not indented. The student is to read one long paragraph with one picture at the top. Also, the text for the quizzes is much too small (although on the plus side, settings allow enlargement of the reading text). Customer service is unhelpful. I give it three stars because I really like the concept.
