About

Recqo is more than a star! A friend's recommendation beats a 4.8-star rating every time. Recqo is built on that idea. Instead of endless scrolling, generic top-10 lists, and paid placements, Recqo hands you a small, curated set of San Francisco restaurants matched to who you are as a diner based on the vibe and the occasion. How it works Tell Recqo a little about your taste in a quick 30-second setup — the cuisines and vibes you love, the ones you'd rather avoid, a few favorite spots, and any dietary needs. From there, Recqo learns through three simple signals: • Recommend — save the places that catch your eye • Nah — tell Recqo what's not for you • Skip — move on, no strong opinion Every swipe teaches the app your palate, so your picks keep getting better. What you can do • Swipe a personalized feed of SF restaurants tuned to your taste • Filter by occasion, cuisine, and vibe to match the moment • Search for a specific neighborhood, cuisine, or mood • Been somewhere? Tap "Been here?" to leave a quick review and sharpen your recommendations • Save spots to revisit and see your personal taste summary in your profile • Get directions, grab a ride, or share a place in a tap Why Recqo is different • No stars. We don't reduce restaurants to a single number. • No ads, no sponsored placements. Restaurants can't pay to reach you. • Built for San Francisco. Deep local coverage, not a thin national database. • Personal, not popular. Recommendations reflect your taste, not the crowd's. Stop scrolling. Start eating well. Recqo is free. What's New in Recqo

1.5

August 19, 2026

What's New New First-run experience — a three-reel chooser (Where, What Kind, Amount) so the feed is personalized from the first launch. "Surprise Me" randomizes; "Your Recqo" applies your picks. New Launch animation — the app blooms out of a dot on open and implodes back on close. New Gate re-show rule — the startup questions re-appear when you return to SF or after a configurable interval. Pre-fills your last answers. Includes a Profile toggle to force-show it. New In-app feedback — "Suggest an edit" and "Report a problem" now submit directly in the app instead of requiring Apple Mail. Sends a formatted email to hello@recqo.com with place details and a Pacific timestamp. New In-app browser — website, reservation, and ordering links open inside the app instead of bouncing to Safari. New Time-based filtering — searching the map for a future time (e.g. "dinner at 7 PM") now filters by actual hours instead of the stale "open right now" flag. Loosening ladder skips time if you said 7 PM, closed places stay hidden. New Impression counter — tracks per-(user, entity) impressions so the feed can deprioritize places you've already seen. New Profile hero photo — full-bleed hero image with an identity card overlay, matching the critic profile style. Fixes Fix Feedback sheet bottom cutoff — the Send button on "Suggest an edit" / "Report a problem" was clipped by the home indicator. Cream fill now extends to the screen edge. Fix Removed "Coming soon" from the Go sheet—no longer needed for App Store 2.1. Fix Privacy policy renders as Markdown instead of raw markup tags. Fix Disabled Send button now uses the app's border tone with muted text instead of a washed-out navy slab. Fix Dependency pins — react-native-svg, slider, flash-list, and expo-image pinned to SDK 54 certified versions to prevent EAS build failures.
