48MP ProRAW does not actually capture at 48MP

I bought this app specifically to remotely control my iPhone 14 Pro from my iPad and capture full-resolution 48MP ProRAW photos. The app shows “48MP, 8064×6048, ProRAW,” but the actual DNG files are only 4032×3024 (12MP).

I tested both remotely from the iPad and directly on the iPhone with the same result. The remote control works well, but I paid for this specifically for 48MP capture.

Hopefully the developer can fix this, because otherwise the app would be exactly what I need.

This works fine on my devices. More information is needed. For example, how do you determine the size of the resulting photo? What other camera settings? What is the lighting like? You can write to my email.

New Features

Hello,

First, thank you for creating such a well-designed app. I’ve been testing it with my iPhone and iPad, and it’s one of the closest solutions I’ve found for using an iPad as a wireless camera monitor. It has been a pleasure to use.

I have a few feature requests that I believe would make the app even more compelling, especially for portrait photographers, content creators, families, and anyone taking self-portraits.

1. Support the iPhone’s native camera modes

One of the biggest reasons people continue to use Apple’s Camera app is its excellent computational photography features. It would be fantastic if your app could support as many of the native camera capabilities as possible, including:

* Portrait mode with adjustable background blur (depth effect)
* Photographic Styles
* Night mode
* Live Photos
* Other Apple camera features as they become available

The closer the shooting experience is to the native Camera app, the easier it would be for users to adopt your app full-time.

2. “Review After Capture” mode

This is the feature I would love to see the most.

My ideal workflow would be:

* The iPad displays a live view from the iPhone.
* I press the shutter (or use a Bluetooth remote).
* The iPad immediately switches from the live view to the captured photo in full screen.
* The photo remains visible for a configurable amount of time so everyone can review it.
* The app then automatically returns to the live preview.

Suggested options:

* Return immediately to Live View
* Hold for 3 seconds
* Hold for 5 seconds
* Hold for 10 seconds
* Hold for 30 seconds
* Hold for 60 seconds
* Stay until tapped

This would create a wonderful experience for portrait sessions because both the photographer and the subject could immediately evaluate the image before continuing.

3. Full-screen review experience

During the review period, it would be great to have options such as:

* Hide all interface elements for a clean, full-screen image.
* Pinch to zoom for checking focus and sharpness.
* Swipe left/right to review recent captures before returning to live view.
* Optional overlay showing focus point and exposure information.

Why I think this matters

I believe your app has the potential to become the best wireless camera companion for the Apple ecosystem. Many users want the flexibility of an iPad as a larger monitor while still enjoying the outstanding camera hardware in their iPhone.

These additions would create an experience that’s difficult to achieve with Apple’s own apps:

* Live composition on the iPad
* Instant review after every shot
* Automatic return to live view
* Native-quality iPhone photography

Thank you again for all the work you’ve put into this app. I appreciate your continued development and hope you’ll consider these ideas for a future release.

Awful

Crazy delay

Response from developer

To reduce delay, you need to increase the frame sending frequency in the app settings (the third button from the top if the iPhone is in portrait orientation). This is a free feature, and you can test it.

WiFi needed?

It seems like the app has been changed and now both devices must be connected to WiFi for a successful connection. Now I can’t record outdoors using my older phone as a remote. Is this a permanent change?

Response from developer

There are no changes to the connection method between the two devices. A connection to a Wi-Fi router is not required. It's possible that one of your devices is sharing the internet with another device. This could be interfering with the connection. You can check and disable this in iOS settings: Settings > Personal Hotspot. If this does not help, you need to find out what else might be interfering with the connection in the place where the connection does not work.

It Works Perfectly

I wanted a way to view my iPhone camera image on my iPad mini as it’s a larger screen. I tried several other apps but each of them were either buggy or not simple to use. This app works perfectly, it’s simple to use, it’s extremely inexpensive, and it has solved my problem. Great app.

Must Have for Newtonian Telescope

This app is perfect for using while collimating newtonian telescopes. The image overlay and the ability to adjust focus and zoom lets you use this app and your existing phone to replace a multi-hundred dollar alinement camera. I would recommend that you get a phone holder to keep your camera in line with the imaging plane. I have not tried the remote capability yet, but it is perhaps worth ft for adjusting larger scopes to see real time what you are doing without moving back and forth to the eyepiece. I don’t normally rate app, but this one is too useful to not.

If you have no idea what i mean when I say “collimating a newtonian,” but you need a app that gives you the option of manual control over you phone camera, then this app is the one for you.

Not working.

Only get black screen when switching to iPhone camera. Tried reversing the camera and controller options but still doesn’t work.
Even after purchasing.

UPDATE
Finally got it working. What wasn’t clear was that the “Local Network “
had to be selected.
Since there is no “guide “ , I had to figure it out myself.
Stupid is as stupid does! Lol

The app likely doesn't have access to your camera. You need to check your privacy settings: Settings > Privacy > Camera.

Zoom behind a paywall

I’m only testing the app to see if it fits my needs. Why am I being prompted to pay within two minutes of downloading the app?

I don’t know if I want it yet. Silly. Deleting it.

Response from developer

Basic features are free. The time elapsed since the app was downloaded does not matter. Someone might try using a feature only available in the full version, even within two seconds of downloading the app. The review doesn't mention that you can use the free features indefinitely.

Not worth it

Tried using this app today. Spent 2 hours recording videos and ended up not being able to use any of the footage. It’s all laggy and glitchy.

Response from developer

If the frame sending frequency seems too low, you can increase it in the app settings. If the image on the device acting as a screen really lags, then this is a problem with the frame transfer, and not with the video recording. This issue affects a small number of users. We can find the reason together if you write to me by email. If the finished video lags, it's a bug, and you can help fix it by emailing me and telling me the iOS version and device model. I don't have such a bug.

Минус вайб

Photo not saving issue…

When I select “Averaging a series of frames” I receive an error “There was an error when saving photo to the "Photos" app library
Error: The operation couldn't be completed. (PHPhotosError Domain error 3302.)”

Any suggestions for fixing this?

Gute Remote App

can't set above 12MP

Fixed!!

I love this app. When I first installed it, the camera up button did not work for taking a picture. I wrote the developer he replied and fixed it the next day.. It was difficult to hit the camera button while holding the phone behind your back but now you can simply use the volume up button.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback and error report! But you are not precise in the description of the error :). It did not work only on the device acting as a screen. I fixed this error. Please check. If there are any other errors, please let me know.

Missing one key feature

This app is fantastic however, currently the ability to trigger the camera using the up volume button is not working. I wrote the developer and he acknowledged this and promise to fix. Five stars as soon as he fixes that defect.
