Your Apple Watch measures you all night. RestUp turns that into one clear answer each morning: go hard today, or take it easy.
RestUp is a sleep and recovery tracker for Apple Watch. You wake up to a readiness score from 0 to 100 and a plain line like "Your body is ready for a big day" or "Your body is asking for rest today." You won't need to buy a strap or a ring.
If your watch has been tracking your sleep, RestUp reads up to six months of past nights the first time you open it, and you get your first reading today.
KNOW WHEN TO PUSH AND WHEN TO REST
• See readiness, sleep, resting heart rate, HRV and VO2 max at a glance, each with a small graph against your usual.
• Tap a workout, your steps or a nap to open its own page. See how you sleep after that evening spin class.
MAKE SENSE OF A BAD NIGHT
• Get a sleep score and a night graph you can read without a manual. RestUp explains REM, deep and light sleep in plain words.
• See how long you took to fall asleep, how often you woke, and what your heart, breathing and blood oxygen did overnight.
• Insights: tell RestUp what keeps going wrong, like waking at 3 am. It checks your own nights for what went along with it, such as late workouts, long naps, travel or warm nights, and shows a link only after confirming it in your data.
FIND WHAT HELPS YOU SLEEP
• Track your sleep debt, tonight's target and a wind-down time, with a nudge when it's time to start.
• Night experiments (beta): pick one change, like a cooler room or no coffee after 2 pm. Stick with it for 14 nights and RestUp tells you whether it helped.
THE MATH BEHIND RESTUP
RestUp keeps the screen calm on purpose. Underneath, it:
• Reads 12 kinds of health data, including wrist temperature, VO2 max and HRV, the tiny variation between heartbeats that shows how recovered you are.
• Builds readiness from five parts: sleep balance, recovery, HRV balance, training load and sleep regularity.
• Measures your heart against your own 14-night baseline, so "normal" means normal for you.
• Tracks sleep debt with a model from sleep research. A lie-in pays back a quarter of the extra sleep, so a long Sunday sleep won't erase a short week. Sorry.
• Works out your chronotype (lion, bear, wolf or dolphin) from when you sleep on days off.
LOOK BACK OVER WEEKS AND MONTHS
• Findings about how you're wired, like social jet lag and sleep regularity, with the nights behind each one.
• Six months of vitals trends, each marked improving, steady or shifting.
• Every Sunday you get a Weekly Digest: five pages on your week and one thing to try next.
• RestUp writes a new Almanac chapter every two months on how you slept, moved and recovered, laid out like a printed book.
• You earn Keepsakes, little characters you collect, for your best nights and steadiest streaks.
ON YOUR WRIST AND HOME SCREEN
• A free Apple Watch app shows your readiness, last night and tonight's plan, with a one-minute breathing exercise and complications.
• Widgets for readiness, sleep and tonight's plan, plus Focus filters.
WE NEVER SEE YOUR HEALTH DATA
RestUp works out every score on your iPhone. You don't need an account, and you won't see ads.
