Horrible customer service
It takes up to two days for their system to update your plates. So after DMV gave you new plates , changed your registration document, you still have the old plates! For two days. So what do you do! Not drive. Or remove this thing that was installed by the dealer! It’s ridiculous! They can’t be that busy, 2-3 license plates. KEEP UP! I’ll never get this dumb system again! Even with the 5 year include from the dealership. There is still an anual service to activate with DMV! The dealership never mentioned that!!!!!

A Happy Reviver Customer for 8 Years!
I was an early adopter and absolutely love the electronic plate. I only had one problem after about 3 years, when it would not download my new CA year tag. But they quickly replaced it with a brand new unit, that has worked flawlessly. Wonderful customer service, and followed up. I highly recommend the Reviver plate!

Not sure what issues others are having…
I’ve had Reviver since it launched in Ca. Zero issues with connection, updating, registration. I did have an issue with expired registration and had to go through ETags to renew, which required a call to Reviver. My call was answered within 15 minutes and the amazing, knowledgeable staff member had my issue resolved in less than 2 minutes. Great customer service.

Pretty sure they’re going out of business
They aren’t verifying new plates, they aren’t responding to support tickets, and they aren’t answering phone calls. The support phone line ended the call after keeping me on hold for 40 minutes, nobody ever picked up and nobody even attempted to help me.

Total Scam
I’ve had mine for over 3 months now. Can’t get anyone from the company to respond to emails or calls. Waiting for approval says it takes 1-2 business days. Well it’s been months.
Poor performing app
Constant crashing of app. Updates to e-plate do not happen as expected even when stating right next to e-plate. Last update to app was over 3 months ago (as of January 2026), perhaps an update is needed to remedy all these issues?
Poor Management
The digital license plate is a cool feature if you see value. However Riviver is not managed by competent professionals. I would wait until they develop better customer support. They dont respond to calls or emails. Try for yourself.

The plate shipped will not fit my car. I have called countless times and no one ever answers. It goes to voicemail. To which I have left countless voicemails and sent countless emails to get this corrected and and never get a response from anyone. This company is terrible!

Had to transfer my plate to a different vehicle; gets denied claiming my reg is not valid.. so the document sent to me from dmv is not valid?? Contact customer support.. no response.. contact them again… no response.. why am I paying for something I can’t use?? Why have a contact customer support option is THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Update: never got my plate canceled.. and my other plate just magically decided to become “detached” yet is and has been for over a year secured. Way more hassle than it was ever worth

So grateful to have a digital license plate that prevents car theft. I have had great luck with the plate itself Customer Service, and am looking to get this to a friend as well.

The reviver license plate is useless. It cost a minimum $35 a year to have a license plate that looks like it was designed in the 1960s. I’m guessing some tech-bros’ son couldn’t get a personalized license plate for his car so his dad decided to make a company that produces binary color, license plates, and gives you a couple of letters at the bottom for customization. Stupid. I was forced to take it by the dealer who said it was non-negotiable. Now it is gonna sit on my bench because it will cost me $35 to re-up the app and $49 to transfer the plate to someone.

Worst customer service
Trying to get a hold of someone is extremely impossible. I have been trying for a week and when I finally got a hold of someone, they said they would call me back the next day at 8:30 AM too hard to reset my plate because the Bluetooth is not connecting and it’s not working. And my registration that I already paid for through the app will not go onto the plate. This is so frustrating. I have had the rplate sent 2022. Now I’m starting to regret it.

Not sure why the negative reviews, I’ve been using reviver since 2020 and works with no problems, in fact it’s nice to get notifications when your car moves and the registration renewal is flawless!
