Easy System
Renting was easy. Ride was fun. Can’t beat the views. Had a great dinner at the one hotel and enjoyed the beach!
Poor Experience
Had a poor experience using this service and app all the way through the process. I wanted to do an evening ride with a companion so I selected two bikes. The first bike I chose and scanned paired through the app, but did not power up. After multiple failed attempts to get the bike functioning, I decided to “end the ride” with this particular bike, as the second bike was powered up and the ride had started. The fees are unclear to begin with, but when I ended the ride with this bike I was charged for the rental on a bike that never came on, and the wheels were locked.
I selected a third bike, and was successful in powering it up. Obviously the other bike was faulty. Upon starting our actual ride, I was severely disappointed with the overall quality of the bikes. Both bikes had issues - the seat was loose on one, allowing it to turn. The vertical adjustment was poor also. The ride is extremely rough; tires are thin and going over any seams in blacktop or uneven sections was uncomfortable. The brakes on one bike didn’t engage properly, and the headlight on the other worked intermittently.
I would add that these bikes just became available at this location, leading me to think they should have been checked out and serviced prior to this location becoming active. The day prior we rented bikes through another service and the quality of the bikes and ride was entirely better. It was a night and day difference.
