Rilke: Learn German

Read Rilke as he wrote: in German, line by line, with the English at your side. This is a guided edition of the Neue Gedichte, both parts, 1907 and 1908. One hundred seventy-two poems, The Panther and the Archaic Torso of Apollo among them, nothing cut. Tap any line for a clear translation and a word-by-word gloss; tap any word for its form and its job in the line. The grammar is taught from the poems themselves, not from a textbook. Every poem is read aloud in German. Follow the voice word by word, or let a whole collection play while you listen. When you are ready, say a line back: your reading is scored on your device, and nothing you say leaves it. You don't need any German to begin.
