About

Your car knows what's wrong with it. Shadetree helps you listen. Plug an inexpensive Bluetooth OBD-II adapter into the port under your dash and Shadetree records what your car reports on every drive: engine readings, transmission temperatures, fuel trims, battery and charging health, fault codes, and more. THE CAR PAGE IS THE DATA Open your car and everything it has said is right there. Anything worth watching is drawn as a chart with its history across drives. Tap any reading for what it means in plain language and its typical range. ASK ABOUT THIS CAR One tap gathers everything your car has reported, recent drives, trends, codes, and the weather they happened in, and opens the AI you already use (Google, ChatGPT, or Claude) with a mechanic's-eye question already asked. No VIN, no location, ever. YOURS, PRIVATELY No account. No ads. No trackers. Your drives, locations, and history stay on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. Anonymous coverage sharing (which readings a model of car can answer) helps unlock readings for cars like yours; it never includes your VIN or location, and you can turn it off. A plain-English privacy policy in Settings says exactly what leaves the phone and when. Works with common ELM327-compatible Bluetooth LE adapters. Deep support for Honda vehicles today, with standard OBD-II readings on most cars sold since 2008. Try the built-in sample car before buying anything. Shadetree adds to your warning lights, your manual, and a real mechanic. It does not replace them.

What's New in Shadetree

1.1.0

October 19, 2026

Shadetree now records your drives in the background. You no longer need to open the app first. After each drive you get a short note: how long, what peaked, and anything that changed, like a new fault code, a battery getting weak, or fuel trim drifting. Trends wait for a second drive to agree before you hear about them, so a single glitchy reading never sets off an alarm. Parked, Shadetree now watches your battery's resting voltage and tells you when it is getting weak or something is draining it overnight. Ask about this car now starts from whatever your last drive flagged, with your car's own readings attached.
