i NEED this app to work

I love this app. It organizes, clarifies, and streamlines all the different projects going on in the different areas of my life. The only issue is that it hasn’t been updated in a year and I fear this is a dead app :( If the SEO was optimized, I’m sure there’s so many other people out there like me who absolutely NEED an app like this and would love to use it! Please fix the bugs going on and keep Rizen alive!

Great App - Looking forward to more functionality!

This is a great app to get organized on tasks, it’s got some quirks that need to be worked out by the developers but it’s a nice way to calmly organize yourself in today’s busy world. Looking forward to more features!!

Please Invest To Fix This App

This app could be amazing. The ideology behind it is great. To see visually where your habits are focused and where they are not is eye opening and can show you how unbalanced your habits are to one area of your life, while another area might be more neglected. The decision matrix and all the features are great but the app functionality is terrible. I found button would not work, the syncing to my iphone would not work. Vasiliy Ivanov, please invest in improving the usability, functionality, and user experience. This app could be a game changer for a lot of people. So much so, that I wrote my first app review in hopes you actually read this and fix it because I wanted to love your app so badly, but I ended up switching to Rise because its design and usage was far more end user friendly. This product feels like an MVP that was never improved.

Best App for Organizing your life

This is the best app I found for organizing your life. Better than Trello to manage everything. I love it. It could use improvements, not sure the developers are working on it. If there was a button for suggestions to enhance, they could use it to better the app. I believe in Kaizen - continuous improvement. Also love to have this app on Android.

Scammy setup

They offer a free trial- when you select forces you into the annual without the free trial.

Can’t cancel.

Worse the style of the app is as poorly designed as the purchase scam. Avoid at all costs!

Just updated and all my data is gone

Very frustrating.

They said they fixed it and wanted an update

That was like a month ago, same stuff continued so I never updated. Just got used to having to reopen app after every task. And now I go on to find all my pending tasks deleted. The only thing listed are my “dones.” This seriously screws me over. I don’t even know how to articulate how upset I am.

On the one bright side I can now delete this app and restart with another, something I was pushing off doing because I had devoted so much time to getting all my tasks listed. And now they’re gone. Like, awful. Do not download.

The simpler, the better

Just a simple, intuitive application. Suitable for everyday routine. Thanks for the fact that there are no ads, even in the free version.

Glitches are Unforgiveable

Im on a 2020 Macbook Pro and EVERY TIME a window opens in the app (like adding a new task) that window causes more than half of the screen to be greyed out and the app must be closed to regain full screen. Half the time the edit didn't save. not to mention the work flow hazard this causes with having to close and open the app continuously just to use it. also, when assigning activities to goals, that linkage at somepoint disappears and you hve to reassign activities to tasks multitple times. and then you have to doeal with the greyed out screen for that! its endless. fix this asap.

Excellent app but a bit unstable

The APP cannot consistently save the changes. When it is closed and reopened, the most recent updates are not always displayed. Additionally, we are unable to edit the names of the kanban columns. Everything else is excellent.

I wanted to like it

I wanted to like this app, I really did. It seemed to solve a number of the problems I have with a lot of the other habit tracking apps but there are a few issues.
1. I use this app on an iPad, iPhone, and MacBook, my done tasks never seem to sync between the 3. I will start the day on my MacBook and usually switch over to my iPhone during the day while I work to track things. If I completed a habit on my MacBook it will still show as incomplete on my iPhone. I even restarted the app multiple times on each device. If sync was fixed this would solve my biggest issue with this app.
2. The Focus feature and the task feature don't really sync. Every time I completed a focus item it would still show up on my monthly task list as needing to be done or vise versa. This is a major issue if you are trying to track habits with a time.
3. I could not find a way to limit my done list on my task boards to just today, instead it showed me every single item I completed for the month. If I am trying to see what was done for today I don't want to have to sift through the entire month.
4. Things are limited to either year/month for any type of tracking there is no option for week.
5. There is no real way to track time spent on a habit so its either complete or not, also no way to specify a time for a habit or a goal of any type for a daily activity. Example (write 250 words, read for 30 mins etc). It drastically reduces its value if I can't see that I missed my goal by 5 minutes or anything like that.
6. There is no real visual representation of how I am doing that I can see. There is some weird stuff like Life's mission and some stats on a monthly average basis but I can't look at a habit visually and see I completed 6 days last week at a glance.
The Good -
* I like the focus timer and the representation of my time spent. I just wish I could schedule habits/tasks at specific times.
* I like being able to add goals to the habits, just wish it displayed the information in a better way and that there was a representation of how I was progressing to that goal. If my goal is 100 days of not missing I have no way to see where I am at.
* I like that I can use this on all my devices, just wish it synced better.

I have no issue paying the monthly or even buying the app if it solved these issues but right now it just doesn't have the functionality I want/need. I am a software engineer myself and I have built a few apps in the past so I know the work involved which is why I am giving this 3 stars instead of something like 1. If the developer was able to fix these issues I would happily give it another try but for now my search continues.

Could definitly be awesome

**Update**

TLDR; you will spend more time trying to figure out what needs to be done and what was added back in, or if the timer actually counted down properly than doing work.

Let me start by saying this is a visaully beautiful app, but that's where the pros end.

-Items don't update across tabs 80 percent of the time
-The boards are clutterd.
-The focus tab just doesnt work. Timers end early and have no manual restart, stop or play for 'break' and 'focus'.
-You have to manually add tasks to the focus area that are already in your 'today' on your monthly board
-if you close program items that you finished are back in the to-dao area many times. Primarily I notice this if you mark done form the focus area.
-The timers are absolutly screwy, I used another timer to check accuracy and a 25 min timer will end at random times. Sometimes 4 mins, 13 mins, 8 mins, etc.

=============Initial review================

A few of the options such as the 'focus' are not very intuitive, and when you go to the website for documention the website is aweful and if there is documention I was unable to find it on the website. There are also many bugs such as the 'edit' option under goals doesnt do anything. You have to delete the entire goal and recreate it if you want to change anything. Still gonna give it some time but I wouldn't spend your money just yet.

Response from developer

Thank you. Fixed!

Very good

This is my favorite habit-tracking app. It's the only one that doesn't force me to assign a day of the week to weekly items that don't have to be done on a specific day. I can mark things done from the notification, and I can select the time interval of the snooze option. No single habit takes up too much space on the screen. I love the simple design.

Brilliant app

The app is great! It's very straightforward and easy to learn. I love the sticky option that makes it so I have to interact with a task in order to dismiss it ("Yes" "No" "Remind me in...") instead of just swiping the notification away. My only issue is that there's no way to organize your tasks into groups/folders so it can get pretty messy. I'd like to be able to organize things by "Morning Routine," "Nightly Routine," etc. Otherwise, wonderful app!

Surprised

Good so far. I'd like to make a few suggestions though. The first is ideal. It would be nice to see more integration with Google's ecosystem. For example, allowing a link to something like the Keep Second, the ability to have a reminder be "fired" not just at certain times, but, moreover, at certain places and at certain times when at those places. Lastly, it would be nice to add the ability to schedule reminders to fire at specific times of the year, as my winter habits differ from summer ones.

Yes

This app may only track habits, but it does so perfectly and for free! Rizen is reliable and predictable; I've never had issues with notifications not showing up. It's local-only, so it doesn't have a syncing or real-time backup, but it's also not another account to sign in to. Its file-based backup and restore work well, and you can also check and uncheck items automatically with Tasker. It's well-maintained by the dev, with up-to-date features like sticky notifications and a dark theme.

Excited!!!

Pros: It does what it does pretty well. It's very intuitive. It's a very helpful tool and macOS doesn't have many of them available. Cons: The widgets are oddly non-useful. The main screen of the app itself is an overview of how you're doing on all of your habits. Perfect! But the widgets only show one at a time with no similar bird's eye view. Rather than use a widget, it's easier to just click on the app. What I'd like to see: Syncing between devices, though that might be a lot to ask of a completely free open-source app. Since it is open source maybe someone else will run with that.

Interesting

I’ve tried others but this is the best app so far. I have used this more than the others and he keeps me on track. I try to share this with as many people as I can. Love this app!

I love Rizen

This app is the perfect habit tracker for me! It has the ability to repeat daily, weekly and monthly. You can track each goal with specific units (ex. count, minutes, seconds, miles, etc.). You can also put on the timer for for the goals you’re tracking with time units or just manually enter the units. Set multiple reminders. Choose an end date (or no end date) for goals. Choose frequency. You can also set a habit with no specific day but multiple (or once) a week. Great for me because some habits I want to maintain don’t have designated days (yet). You can even set a passcode for the app. Multiple widgets. Looks clean. Clean interface. BIG PLUS: Ability to retrospectively track habits. Some days you may forget to log habits or for me, some of my habits are technically done the next day but I want it to count the previous day (I’m a night owl). Example: one of my habits is to take my nightly vitamins. I usually take them after 11:59pm but I still want it to count for that day. So this was big for me. This app really helps me be consistent with my goals. The streak 🔥 encourages me not to break my streaks, therefore my habits. BIG PLUS: ONE TIME FEE ($5.99) I don’t know why some other habit tracker apps would charge a monthly subscription fee. Ridiculous. SUGGESTIONS TO DEVELOPERS: The hidden habits don’t stay hidden. You have to manually hide them daily which is inconvenient and defeats the purpose. Also maybe tracking items before making it a goal would be nice, so that it doesn’t affect your analytics. For instance, I just want to track my water intake before making it a goal to drink x amount a day. It would also be nice if habits could be broken down by anytime, day, night without clicking just one in “Status”. If I were to click “Now” I may not remember to change it back later but if it had sections on the normal screen, that would be cool and still keep the completed task at the bottom.
