Better than Discord
Switched over from Discord after their lack of data integrity and their “nickel and diming” nature for some as simple as changing the font of your name. Root has been great and it also has a bright future. Hoping it continues

root was almost great. it was almost good enough to replace discord. it was comforting to know my privacy would be safer here and not handed over to any AI or any other person/place that may invade my privacy. however. i have been using the app for months now and nothing has improved at all. i still cant send SHORT photos/videos/files to my friends. hardly anybody is here. there’s no public servers or bots to customize your server with. this app may be fine for you if you lack personality or just looking for a simple, basic messaging app. but to me it’s been a complete waste of my time and i almost considered going back to discord if it weren’t for them forcing AI and personal identifiers against us. what a massive letdown.

It’s so nice to have an alternative to discord that allows me to send images and videos without needing a subscription. It’s also really user friendly when creating servers and editing them.

Continual issues
Sometimes messages don’t send. Sometimes it’s images. Sometimes it won’t even let you know when you e been messaged; either way, Root is a grab bag and I hope it improves….

I literally use this every day now and the apps are a new idea overall and theres no builtin AI features which I love! ^^

Glitchy, drops calls randomly, and sometimes can’t join a call.
Love it but
I heavily enjoy the app since everything is quite simple and not to bad to navigate but I do wish special characters could be used in channel names like these ꧁ I think it adds nice decor, also the banner for accounts often squish the image I'm using or just look off. Everything else is great though ^_^

Just copy discord
Literally do what discord does, how hard is that? and just keep the good audio quality. I swear people constantly try to remake the wheel when it already works. Just figure out how to make it better without changing the fundamentals. Like why can’t I stop a livestream in the app?? Why do I have to mute the person but the stream keeps going. How hard is it to simply put a x at the top of the video so I don’t have streams constantly playing in the background

So much potential
I used the app today since DC was down and my group created a server on here as backup. When I first arrived, it seemed really nice. But shortly after I noticed that I wasn’t receiving any chat notifications from the channels. I did some searching online and found that this is not a feature in Root. I think this is a major flaw and the developers of the app should integrate these notifications with an option to turn off or mute.

Kicked out of my account
I got logged out of my account, and now I can’t get back in. I tried to reset my password, and I’m not getting the email for the stupid verification code. I checked my spam folder, and nothing is there. It also takes like 5 minutes to load the security verification. Please fix this!
Lacking in Accessability Features
I think this app is good in construction and is similar to another application. However I think you’d be able to get more consumers interested if you added certain Accessability Features.Like for instance make the app compatible to that of Voice Readers and better usage on Mobile. I’ve heard that it’s better on an actual Computer. However it’d be best if both Computer nad Mobile was ssync’d up to be the same on both ends. I’m Blind nad so I always look for apps which have compatibility with that of Voiceover or that of Screen Readers.

Fantastic alternative
After issues with discord getting its data leaked, housing pedophiles and overall being an unsafe platform I quit and moved to root and it’s been amazing since - same layout, talking to my friends in peace, no past interactions or dangerous members of communities that might doxx etc
