Great for basic animation.
This app has a lot of great features, more specifically with how you can use the frames. With FlipaClip you have to create a new frame every time, which is annoying if you need an extended frame; but with Rough Animator, you can drag any frame to be as long as you want. It’s also a lot easier to delete frames on Rough Animator vs FlipaClip.
Very easy to create lots of layers, the only limiting factor being your device’s ability to handle the load; which if you have the same devices I do, it doesn’t take very much to crash the app.
I do wish there was more to play around with the selection feature, since it is very basic, but it’s able to get the job done.
It’s worth mentioning that for animation, while not having as many brushes, Rough Animator works better for me than FlipaClip.
Overall, very solid. I will be continuing to use Rough Animator for a while.

I bought this app after quitting FlipaClip bc they wanted me to pay a monthly subscription just to see a frame ahead with onion skin, and WOW!
First of all, the amount of things u can do with this app with just 8 dollars is crazy! You can draw perfect straight lines, circles, squares, it has a smoothing setting for your lines, you can import videos, audio, pictures, png images, unlimited layers, a ton of layer settings (that I don’t understand a lot of yet lol), and a ton more!
Second, I saw a ton of reviews saying, “it can’t do this” or, “it can’t do that” when the app literally can they just haven’t watched a YouTube tutorial lol. Also there are reviews that say, “the app keeps crashing” which the app does crash sometimes but that’s only if u have like 8 different layers and a 300 frame video on full resolution😂.
This app is a goldmine for people who want to animate professionally! You just have to know how to use it!

This is even worse than Flipaclip!
First off, the app crashes whenever I try to import an image, causing me to lose hours of progress, I run a YouTube channel and that’s not really efficient if I want to upload consistently, second when I make an animation it looks choppy no matter the frame rate I run it on, please fix these issues!

This is definitely one of if not THE best animation and drawing apps I’ve used in my life, it’s nice and smooth, really easy to get down, and much better than flip-a-clip, definitely a monumental discovery in my life

Omg it’s really good but whenever I try to tilt something I moved with this tool (idk what it’s called) it disappears and it’s SUPER ANNOYING. ROUGHANIMATOR PLEASE FIX THIS

this app is great I love using it but it would honestly better if you added tweening
One problem
When I was using it, everything was fine but now it’s not letting me draw every single time I try to draw right now nothing appears it’s just a blank canvas ( paper,screen? Oh well) can you please fix this? Thank you.

Simple, no ads, has layers soooo goooood purely because I hate flip-a-clip.

I love this program. It makes it super easy for a beginner like me to pick up and start animating. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of other programs, but it’s great for practicing the fundamentals.

Super good, highly recommended may be tricky at first (especially if you came from flipaclip), but after a few animations you're get the hang of it. 5 stars

Easy & fun to use
Rough Animator is the only app I’ve been able to figure out for making short videos and GIFs. I like Procreate for drawing my silly dino “art” but can only manage their animation app in my dreams (sorry),
It’s great
I’ve only had 1 problem and that’s when I edit the layer settings the app starts to freak out, which I realize might be a storage issue on my end but it was worth noting just in case. Other than that all the tools are very helpful and some learning of the format is required (as usual with animation apps). Great use of my money.
