Disfunctional
Poor UI / UX. Looks and feels very amateur. After updating app I am unable to select different sources for different rooms. The entire Russound system has been flakey since it was installed 5 years ago. I suggest Russound spend some $ on a new app. Hire pros with designers.
7 years with this app and still problems connecting
This is the most unreliable app I’ve ever used. Very frustrating to not be able to use a 10k sound system due to this app as the only way to access the system. Always getting error message that it can’t access the device even minutes after accessing it and still open on my iPhone grrrr
Can’t find connected devices…again and again and again…
Constantly not finding receiver. Been dealing with this issue for years and multiple apps.
Better, but still built in a misconception
This version of the app is much better than previous iterations, however, it’s still suffers from the same core issue:
The belief that this app will provide the canonical experience that people will want to control their music with.
I get it. It’s hard to spend all the money and take all the time to build an app, all the while knowing that it would best be served by fading invisibly into the background. Thus the temptation to foster the belief that just maybe it can be the app that people will want to use to control their music.
Unfortunately, that title will always belong to the apps of which the music is sourced. Anytime we are away from our system at home, these are the apps will be using the whole time. In our cars m, out and about, etc.
At the very least, you need to allow the volumes in those apps control the Russound volume. Apple has built in API’s to do just that. However, either the developers of this app don’t know about them, or they choose to not include them. This is a major miss, and a major inconvenience.

Help
Very disappointed with this app and Russound. I have tried multiple times a day for weeks to use my music system and it hasn’t connected once.
Very dissapointing
Losing control after few minutes. Could not use Apple Music
Bad app
Extremely frustrating non-transparent application. Would not recommend, I would never purchase another Russound system.
Hopeful
Previous versions have been terrible at connecting. You’d open the app and it would search and search and say it was connecting, most of the time finally connecting, but sometimes crapping out. I’ve had this version for one day and it seems to be much quicker so I am hopeful. Will increase my star rating if it works out.

Extremely glitchy
The old app worked great for several years (ever since I purchased the system in 2017). Since the switch to the new app, I am lucky if I can get the system to play at all. If I do get it to play, it’s only because I set aside 30 minutes to mess with the app/system. Unfortunately, this will prob cost me a few grand because I feel like the only fix is a new system…Not a fan

Crappy
Had the system for two years. Nothing but problems with the app. Connectivity issues all the time. I’ve updated the app, restarted the app and my phone. As someone else said very frustrating. I would never buy this system again.
Russound, get on a fix. You’ve know for years that there’s been problems.

Connectivity issues for MCA-C3
I input the IP and it doesn’t connect. Please resolve.
Works great when installed correctly!
I’m a Russound installer and have ZERO issues with app connecting to the system. I have hundreds of MCA-66’s and MCA-88’s in the field and all connect fine. Only problem occurred was when my customers were using older Netgear modems/routers.
Once I switched them over to the Eero wi-fi mesh network they all worked great. NO ISSUES!

Connecting issues
Keep on having connection issues. Very frustrating system
Great app
Works great. I updated my Network to the Eero wi-fi system and connects within seconds. Great Job!
Terrible company
Purchased two amps that started smoking within several months , Russound is not compensating for the installation of the new units, super dismissive and didn’t even apologize for hazardous units they gave us, even now that they are forced to recall them now for same issues with other users!!!
Never been good
It has been years - please create a great app - would rate zero stars
App opens finds system but does not start
The old app was buggy enough, but at least it would work. New app recognizing system in my network but then spins and does not load or start just spins and gives same message please fix your app
Ok
Better than last version, but I despise the volume slider, with any lag it’s impossible to get the right volume, please modify , + and - would be better
Cannot connect
It was working pretty good until…..the power went out for literally 5 seconds and after that the app could not connect. It kept trying but….now it doesn’t work. 2/5 *
Great when it works…
…which isn’t very often. Constantly searches for rooms, finds them, loses them, searches again. If room is finally found loses streaming service-then begins to search for rooms again. Makes me completely regret my home audio system. What junk the server/app is
