Terrible App
Just terrible. Doesn’t connect sometimes. Delayed updates. Doesn’t match what the thermostat says.
Glitch
Seems to have a glitch doesn’t always work correctly. Sometimes the app you have to restart it to make it work correctly.
Weather Data
Weather data is often correct. For example, app and EcoNet device both show 10 degrees right now. It is 0 degrees. Fix weather data
No statistics saved
Frustrating that I have had this installed for 3 months and when I check usage statistics none ever show up. After multiple calls with Rheem this is still not working.

The app keeps going from I’m Away to I’m Home without my changing it. Sometimes it stays on I’m Away for a few days but it eventually always goes back to I’m Home. This is a problem.
They updated app and screwed up continuous fan feature
This app was fine enough. Now its been updated and the continuous fan on ac mode has been disabled. This app is exactly why ppl are demanding LESS smart features on their appliances. A manual ac wall unit could do this now in 2026 the app cant figure it out bc design got in the way of engineering. Yikes 🤦🤦can only get it to work by turning humidity target down.

The app & digital thermostat are so bad, I suggest avoiding it.
I wish I had known the app & digital thermostat were this bad BEFORE I purchased a Ruud HVAC system. Because I would have purchased a different HVAC system instead. I agree with all the other bad reviews on here. But I will add one thing - the simple fact that you cannot use the app to access the digital thermostat, while being AWAY from home is insane. That is the most basic function of every other digital thermostat available (e.g. Nest). Otherwise, what is the point of having a digital thermostat?

Latest update has WiFi issues
Newest App update doesn’t allow wifi connectivity from network device (iphone) to smart thermostat. However, the iPhone can connect to all other network devices and the internet without issue.
Stopped working
My app stopped working. My sign in is not working. Might as well delete the app.
App now crashing
Same as other reviewers, after latest update app immediately crashes when trying to open.
App way slow to load and not very informative
Takes more than a minute to load or connect.

Garbage
The inconsistency of this app working is amazing. It won’t auto update even if you delete the app and reinstall it. You have to go back in just to see if there’s an update and that’s why you haven’t been able to connect in days.. And it doesn’t take long before it starts up again, either the Apple won’t open at all or it just sits there clocking. And even when it does open half the time when you change the temperature it just revert right back. And even when it does work, it has the minimal functional use.

Made the mistake of updating app
DON’T upgrade unless you want an app DOA!! Downloaded this and it just churns in the startup process. Now I have NO remote control!!!

I was told to delete the app and reinstall. I can’t reinstall because it won’t open

The early April update breaks the app. It will not load. You can download the generic EcoNet app (not Ruud branded) any that works fine, so if you are having an issue, try the alternate app
