Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Azure ECM at 100% against Ruud EcoNet's 17%. Azure ECM also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). Ruud EcoNet's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Ruud EcoNet holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruud EcoNet has 2.4K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Ruud EcoNet's written reviews are positive against 100% of Azure ECM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Ruud EcoNet ships an update every 5 weeks, Azure ECM every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
