Scan & Go is nice except when you have sales tax exemption.
My club membership is set up so I can make business purchases using my sales tax exemption on some business purchases. But most of my purchases are for personal use and have to be paid INCLUDING state sales tax. The problem is scan & go has either very poor to no way to control how sales tax exemptions are applied depending on what the latest update does. When you could control tax exemption, it was a poorly done addition to the app that felt very much like an afterthought. Because of my business tax exemption, the scan & go defaults to NOT applying any sales tax on any item. This is a huge problem, especially since you’ll need to involve the membership desk if you’ve already checked out and then discover the problem. Scan & go needs to default to making all the purchases have sales tax. And the last time I used the app, there was no way in the app to make it apply sales tax to my purchases. So I had to empty my cart I had done using scan & go and go to the normal checkout lane where the tax exemption is handled very nicely and defaults to applying sales tax to the entire purchase unless you tell it otherwise. Scan & go needs major improvement to make it worthwhile for someone that has a tax exemption on file. This has been a problem with scan & go the entire time it has been in the app. About time scan & go got fixed. Otherwise scan & go is a useless feature and you will have to use regular checkout for purchases that need sales tax applied.

Don’t know what Sam’s is up to but the app used to work great. Scan and go and at the pump. Lately neither works. They ask you to connect to the store WiFi wish makes no sense and even when connected the app is not working. Can’t even open my membership card from the app anymore. Definitely considering not renewing since the Costco app is not giving any issues.

Placed order three times
Placed an order for this item 4 times out of the 4×3 times it charged my card, but it never gave me a confirmation. I had to wait three business days to get my money back after I got my money back then I was able to successfully do a successful order.
App quits working
I constantly have to delete and re-install the app. It has been doing this for months for me. I have used the app for years with no trouble before a few months ago. I have also messaged the company about the issue.

The app is not good. I try to purchase something and it doesn’t allow me. I try to pump gas and it doesn’t work at times. The app keeps lagging

Every time I open app and try to look at items it just keeps thinking. I have to remove app and reinstall. Only works once then same thing. I can’t do online orders for pickup or anything please fix.

Convenient and easy to use
This was my first time ordering for delivery but due to a time crunch, I could not get to the store. Also had two items shipped, which I’ve used before. Items usually come quickly and I’ve never had an issue.
Not enough riding carts
I have been to 3 locations of Sam’s this week. One store had no handicapped carts so i didn’t get to shop, my husband was able to get one thing. The next store had 3 broken down carts roped off 2 dead carts not on chargers but I got a riding cart against all odds and rode to restroom and when I came out someone had taken my items out and took the whole cart, leaving me stranded to get back to the car. I did a mobile order the next day but they didn’t have some of what I came for. On the last store they had lots of carts but was late in the day so no time to look before closing. I like Sam’s and the products but I don’t buy things if I can’t see them. I don’t like shopping online line because it’s hard to see on phone for me. Please do something about the handicapped carts in Spartanburg and Hendersonville. Hickory is farther to drive but has adequate carts even on busy days. I would shop more if mobility weren’t an issue.

Every time I try to purchase the Oxi Clean, it’s never available. For three-four months now in store and online. Online it says available but when I go to purchase it says it’s not available. It puts in my save for later but I want it at the sale price and it won’t give it to me. I should put one star but, because I can get everything else I’ll give 4.
