Wonderful Way to Dtay Connected

This been a wonderful way to stay connected with our grandson! It’s helped keep spirits lifted at both ends, his and ours! Truly a blessing to make it this easy and fast!

unused letters gone

I didn't realize letters expire after a while even after you paid for them. i used 11/20 letters. i was gonna gift the rest to someone else but they were gone. I wish i knew we had a time to use before they disappeared.

Fast communication when it’s mostly needed

My brother has now been sent off to boot camp, it’s been two weeks. We finally received a letter and the instructions on how to use sandboxx, it has been a blessing to have sandboxx and know our letters will arrive asap to him. A very wonderful option when sending the letters is being able to add a photo, I am sure these letters and the extra photo will be a warm hug while away from
Home to my brother.

Great service. Rather expensive

I’m using it with the hope of getting some letters to my son faster than snail mail. It is great in that respect. It is quite pricey so I will convert to snail mail at some point.

IDK Still Assessing

My child has been in Boot Camp for several weeks. I spoke to him this past Sunday and he has yet to receive any letter letters. Yeah I keep receiving emails to purchase more letters from my child to read. Keeping in mind, I started my account the day after he was sworn in so I guess I’ll wait.

Gratitude

Thank you for this service I hope to keep writing to my son and can’t wait to hear from him soon.

Jury is still out…

I like the concept of this app, and the convenience is a big plus. The weekly updates about recruits/their training and the community message boards are genuinely helpful. Being able to ask questions and connect with other military families going through the same experience is nice.

That said, the pricing is hard to justify. The app advertises that letters include a pre-stamped envelope and paper so recruits can write back, but that’s actually a separate $2 add-on that isn’t clearly disclosed upfront. After already paying about $4 for a single letter, an additional $2 per letter for return stationery feels excessive and legit predatory, considering this is marketed to family members who are basically cut off from loved ones for nearly two months.

My other concern is delivery reliability. I sent a letter well before the cutoff time on a Monday, yet it still took several days to reach my recruit—assuming it arrived at all. I won’t be able to confirm for another two weeks, and I’ve seen multiple reviews from users whose letters were marked as delivered but never received by their recruits.

Overall, the app has some useful features and potential, but the high costs and concerns about transparency and delivery make me uneasy. I’ll use the remaining letters from the package I purchased, but I won’t buy more until I can verify that my recruit actually received them.

Sandboxx is Fire!!

This is my first encounter with Sandboxx, since my grandson has been in Bootcamp for the Navy. I can confirm that it is so very heartwarming to have such a wonderful space to keep in touch with our loved ones in the Military. It is so easy to get it done in one place, all at one time, with no hassle. This is my third letter to my grandson and the experience has been totally carefree and enjoyable.
I would encourage everyone who has someone in the Military that they write letters to, to use Sandboxx. It is absolutely an essential resource!

Greatttttt

Not good

App is always glitching, people join your squad and the letters don’t go through the address doesn’t update for the squad. Every person on the squad has had issues and when I tried to change the address when she left to training it did not update. Her letters were lost and she never received them. App does not have good customer service and they are just making money, not helpful.

LOVE THIS APP!

It is so easy to send letters, photos and gift cards. I also love that we can get weekly updates so we understand know what our marine is doing.

A joke

Pay $4 a letter for next day delivery that does not happen. Got a letter from our recruit today, asking us to please write him because he has not received any letters even though multiple have been sent. Very disappointed will just mail my own letters from now on. Do not recommend

The Recruit Bible!

This is “A Must” for you Mamas, whose babies are in Boot Camp and it’s their 1st time really being away from home. I ♥️ the newsletter every week, telling me what My Son was probably doing, and I enjoyed the advice from others, who’s Loved One was also in Boot Camp. Even though you have to pay for the letters (you’d have to pay regardless: stamp, paper, & envelopes) my letters got there MUCH quicker than the regular USPS. I highly recommend!!

Very convenient app

I wrote one letter to my recruit son who was a base training. After I discovered Sandboxx that was it. No more writing letters. No more stamps. No more envelopes. Sandboxx does it all, let you include one free photo and you can put a couple more in for a few bucks.

Letter not received

I had to purchase a minimum of three letters even though I only wanted to send one. On top of that, the letter I sent was not received by the person I sent it to. It’s better to just write it and send it traditionally. Waste of $13.

Love it!

My kid was at FLW for OSUT and due to injuries and being recycled, he was there longer than the norm. I used Sandboxx weekly to send him a letter, photos and a gift card to the PX. It was nice knowing he would get enclosed stationary to send me a letter back. Very convenient and reliable!

Awesome!

Best 60 dollars I’ve ever spent, this app makes it so so so easy and I can use emojis in the letters which is a huge plus for me. Sends super fast and the customer service is great if you ever have issues!

Wonderful

The Sandboxx app has made it so simple and easy to send letters to my mom while she’s in Boot Camp. It’s been super hard on everybody since she’s been gone and we haven’t been able to hear from her. I love how you can write a letter and she’ll get it the next day. It also is very nice that they receive paper and an envelope so that way they can send letters back to us free of charge. The Sandboxx app has been very, very nice.

Awesome

Great way to keep in contact with your recruit through letter writing.

Just ok

They say next day delivery but many of the letters I wrote they have stated got lost. It’s just not reliable.

My recruit loves the pre addressed and stamped return envelope. He said Sandboxx is easier!

The disappointment though in lost letters makes it not really worth it. You can also send a self addressed stamped envelope with a handwritten letter. I think this would have been a better option.

Customer support is hit or miss. Sometimes they give a free letter or reprint for the lost letters. While that is nice it doesn’t make up for the fact that my recruit is missing out on letters wondering if we are writing.

The tracking is off. Sometimes when a letter is delayed they say you sent after cutoff when you know you sent well before cutoff.

I bought packages in advance but I wish I would have just don’t snail mail!

The ease of sending a picture each letter is convenient. The app is easy to navigate. I like that I can start a letter and save it to come back to.
