Wish I had this earlier
This app should come pre-downloaded on every phone. I work in a bar and have seen enough situations where this app would have made a huge difference, not just for the person who went down but for everyone else there to not have waited in panic for medics to show up before anyone was able to help. Thanks to the team that made this, it’s so comforting to know that even a bartender can actually help in emergency situations now.

This app saves lives
A few months ago, I lost a friend to a fentanyl overdose. Another friend was there — she did everything right, she used Narcan, she called 911. First responders came. My friend made it to the hospital. But she had gone too long without oxygen. She never came back. Her friend wanted to save her and tried everything she knew to help. She needed every possible resource.
Apps like SaveMyFriend exist for exactly that moment — when someone's life is in your hands and your mind goes blank. Clear, step-by-step instructions, works offline, free, no account needed. It doesn't just serve people at a party who unknowingly took something spiked. It also serves the people who love someone in active addiction — because the road to long-term recovery is never a straight line, and sometimes SURVIVAL is the bridge to everything that comes next.
I'm in long-term recovery myself. One month from finishing my bachelor's degree and planning to start a master's program in addiction science this fall. I get to have that story because I survived. Tools like this help more people get to live and share theirs.
