Joke app

South Carolina have to be still in slave times. I can’t imagine playing lotto there again and having to rely on the lottery app. So much ads and bugs. It’s like trying to shop on temu. And going through all the advertisements first. Hi South Carolina it’s 2026. I’m not sure if yall know it’s not the 1980 anymore

Yikes!

Needs a LOT of work

App is rife with ads, and most of those that I saw were “interstitial test ads”. Silver lining: they only lasted ~10secs.

Several pages got stuck. I had to switch to any other app then switch back before this app would allow the Back button to work.

When setting up a password, there is no “Show password” button — a much-needed feature on mobile devices.

Tried to sign up but never received the verification email for the OTP. This may be because there’s nothing mentioned about pw requirements, and maybe I failed that complexity but the app had no way to tell me. Or maybe that function is just totally broken.

Does not include PowerBall at all. Only MegaMillions and some other smaller games.

I don’t have a ticket handy at the moment, so couldn’t test the scanner function. Will try later today…

All in all, this terrible app feels very vibe-coded, and as another reviewer said, if someone paid some other someone to develop this app, they should be demanding their money back, or if internally developed, they should fire that dev.

This App S*CKS

Here’s my email to ‘support’:

To Whom It May Concern:

The South Carolina Education Lottery app is THE WORST APP I have ever used. And that’s not just lotto apps; that’s ANY APP, EVER!

It’s nearly useless.

Try to scan Palmetto Cash 5 tickets, and the app scans the “Q5” quick pick designation at the end of the number string, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO DELETE THE ADDITIONAL “Q5.”

If you paid to have this app developed, you should sue for damages.

Additionally, ANY in-app change initiates a new 15- to 30-second ad. Is that any way to treat your customers?

Truly shameful…

In conclusion, the app SUCKS, and makes the South Carolina Education Lottery look third-rate, at best.

Disgustedly,

Response from developer

Hello, Sorry for the trouble. We had a server issue that was fixed later on that day. Please give the app another try. Thanks
