iX500 users helpful info

I have an iX500 and the ScanSnap Home app does not support this model. No worries for me though. On a computer, I set up my iX500 to work on WiFi then configured it to “scan to file” with the destination folder on gdrive or any cloud drive.

Now when I put in a doc and hit scan, I just use my phone to navigate to the cloud drive I set it to and I have my scanned PDF.

You only need to set the scanner up once on a computer via USB. After that, just put the scanner anywhere in your house and scan a document. Goes to the cloud drive every time which you can get to via your mobile device.

In other words: Ditch these lame apps from the store. They are worthless.

Ix500 user?

Which app should i use after May 2025? I’m using ix500.

Also Google drive upload is broken….

Disconnects

I scan 100% times using my phone and this app. For most part of last decade, that has worked with minor glitches but now this feature has developed a glitch that makes the scanner completely useless for me.

Need “select all” feature

After scanning in 10 or more documents, I have to select each file one at a time and then send all 10 files to Apple files app so that I can send all 10 files at one time to my Mac via “air drop”. 1. Can you add a “select all” files feature so I don’t have to select one at a time? 2. Can you add a “select all” files and send all selected files via “air drop” at once so I don’t have to send to Apple files app first?
My model is ix500 so I cannot use ScanSnap Home, please add select all feature to this ScanSnap mobile app that I’m writing this review for.

Works As Expected

I approached the Scansnap iOS app with considerable skepticism. Experience has taught me that software designed for peripherals like scanners and printers is often subpar, a trend that seems to have persisted since the 90s. Moreover, mobile apps designed to control hardware are typically as pleasant as a dumpster fire, often leading to sheer frustration. With these expectations, I braced myself for an hour of tedious troubleshooting.

However, to my surprise and delight, the app proved to be a rare exception. Drawing on my IT expertise, I started by power cycling my ix1600 and installed the app. In just a few minutes, I was connected to my wife’s scanner without a hitch. I managed to scan multiple 15-page documents, attaching them to an email directly from the app, and sent them using the native Mail app. The entire process was astonishingly efficient, taking no more than five minutes.

Kudos to the team for making an application for a
peripheral that works! I very rarely leave reviews on anything but, I was impressed enough to do so. Please keep up the quality control.

Notes:
Scanner: IX1600 - previously setup via macOS
Did not try to edit any settings while scanning the documents. Therefore, cannot attest to any of the other features.

Completely worthless

At one point I actually managed to get this app to ‘see’ an iX100 scanner and then it promptly disappeared. I was never able to get it connected again. Don’t waste your time with this worthless app.

Instead if making things easy they mame it hard

After not using my scanner for six months now it’s impossible to register it. They just make things difficult. You should just stick to one thing and not change it. You guys are really unprofessional.

App stopped working

After changing my backup service, the app refuse to stay open.
After restarting both the app and next the iPad…nothing works.

I also try deleting the app, then reinstall and got the same thing.
I can’t change the cloud service that obviously have a problem connecting because the app won’t stay open.

No longer able to open app

I lost a lot of family photos

Still have to use my computer

I had it working at one point and now I have to go through my extremely old MacBook in order to send a single scan to my device. I tried emailing for support and have received no help/return email.

Probably great if you can connect

I use an ix500 with a PC and it works great. Some minor issues but reliable and generally pretty good. Saw in a promo email that it can now work with an iPad. This could be really useful for the odd occasion but I fell at the first hurdle. Failed to connect. My ix500 is more than 4 years old and doesn’t tally with any thing I can find in help and support documentation . A bit disappointed but I can’t waste any time on it. Microsoft Edge browser failure has wasted my time already

ScanSnap app a huge help for people with disabilities but one bug

A good app that mostly reduces the need for using the ScanSnap home software on a desktop.

I rely on this app to help me organize my mail, bills and medical documents due to my disability, which saved me so much energy and a life saver to open the app and press scan.

But my only request is to fix the bug in the app where I cannot scan longer documents and it says it’s jammed but it isn’t.

The ScanSnap home software says to hold the scan button down on the machine for 3 seconds for documents longer than a certain length and it works on my laptop with the ScanSnap home software, but it does not work with the app. I believe it had no problem scanning longer documents before. Not sure what happened.

Please fix this issue.

Thank you

Never Worked with 2022 IPad Pro

I was never able to get software to recognize SnapScan iX1500 via Wi-Fi. All setup per instructions provided by app. Wi-Fi snooper could see the scanner on Wi-Fi. I tried to set scanner address manually, but this entry was ignored. Pretty useless app.

COMPLETELY DYSFUNCTIONAL

The mobile connection never works.

I am experience with network administration, but now work in accounting. I have recently been promoted to CFO/Controlled so I will advocate that we abandon Fujitsu products in favor of vendors with functioning products.

Great App, works well. Please Add folders optio

It would be great to have the option of folders to organize the scanned documents.

Poor at best

Works some of the time. Currently there are 7 scanned documents in my library that I can do anything with. They won’t open, select, delete, nothing. Worthless.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

How about this for a review? I’m literally ready to tear my hair out trying to set up this piece of junk to work on my wifi. I somehow set it up at home and now I moved to a new location and a new wifi and it stopped working. Setting it up for a new wifi is a total pain. Why does it want me to connect it to my PC? Why do I need to download some junk installer to my computer to make it work? Isn’t it supposed to be a wifi scanner? Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Great hardware but…

Just like my IT consultant told me…”Best Hardware…Terrible software”.

So frustrating!
