Fun little app…hard to move past level 10

This is a fun little app. You move the character (only one) through a dungeon. When you meet a monster you are presented a little puzzle game to “fight”. Try to match 3+ of kind with spells and spears. Too many matched skulls ( opponent hits) and you die. Simple. You defeat monsters to get gold and gems. Use the gold and gems to enhance your character.

One big drawback: The number of gold doubles to reach the next level: 100, 200, 400, etc. same with gems: 10, 20,40,80. So to get to level 11, I need like 26,000 gold! Next 52,000 gold. That would be ok if there were gold caches but all gold and gems come from defeating monsters and being able to get to the dungeon portal. Most of the gold from monsters is approximately equal to their hit points. Example: if a skeleton has 20 hits points you can expect about 20 gold or some lesser amount and gems.

You need to fight higher hit point creatures to really earn gold but they are tough to beat if you can’t level up. Even if most monsters averaged 50 gold per kill, I would still need to kill about 520 monsters just get to level 11. Then 1040 monsters to get to level 12. Going through the lower instances the gold per monster is much, much lower 10-40 gold. So a lot of scrounging on lower levels to move up. Oh and some particular gems are more prevalent on certain floors. You have to figure that out.

Bugs to fix:
1) Cards- these are really more bad than good. Not worth it. Take them out or give the player better return for their guess.
2) when you turn away from the cards to leave, they follow you in every direction you turn until you leave the space where the cars are. So if you turn in place three times, you have to dismis the cars over and over. Annoying
3) Portals- once you commit to the space in front of the portal, you can’t back away. If you press cancel, you are stuck there until you click “ok” and leave the dungeon. It just keeps presenting you with the option to cancel or go through the portal. Fix this.

Enhancements:
1) lower the quotas for gold and gems. Doubling is not realistic.
2) allow character to some inventory: collect healing potions or weapons
3) provide well guarded gold & gem caches. Make it easier to move up!
4) don’t allow a player to use gems on spells for levels they can’t reach. You don’t get lightning until level 11. Why can you use gems to make it better when you can’t even use the spell.
5). Change the levels for spells. It’s two hard to get beyond water and air spells. 320 gems just to go from +5 to +6 on a spell? Way too expensive.

Simple fun

A simple game, but a lot of fun. The use of watching ads to get extra gems appears to be broken.

It’s fun... on the first try

It’s fun ... on the first try, it’s really annoying and the same thing over and over. There is not a good balance between challenging and fun. The sounds of the actual game are loud a weird (not in a good way). You know it’s bad when the adds jump scare you more than the actual monsters do. 😐 last the monsters don’t attack you, the only way that your health bar goes down is if you match the skull pieces. Eventually it gets to the point where it’s all skull
Pieces.

Great game

Easy to learn and play.

Overly simplistic and heavily ad-laden

This game may be free, but it is extremely repetitive, overly simplistic, and filled with ads throughout. And these are the obnoxious kind of ads, the ones for other “games”. Sometimes you dismiss one ad and it launches right into another. There just isn’t enough game to support that kind of onslaught of ads for apps of such dubious quality.
