About
Record your screen while you scroll through a chat, an article, a thread or a document. Give the recording to Scrollscript and get the whole thing back as text.
It reads every line, works out how far the page moved between frames, drops the status bar, headers, tab bars and input fields, and stitches the words into one transcript in reading order. Lines seen in several frames are checked against each other, so compression smudges and odd glyphs do not make it into the text.
Everything happens on your phone. Scrollscript has no account, no analytics and no network access; recordings are read on the device and the transcripts stay in the app until you delete them.
What works
- Chats with bubbles, timestamps, read receipts and reactions
- Articles, threads and feeds, including content that loads as you scroll
- Documents and PDFs, including hyphenated lines
- Light and dark mode, any scroll speed, scrolling back up, variable frame rate recordings
What to expect
- A 20 second recording takes a little while to read; the app shows which stage it is on
- Code blocks and unusual glyphs are read less reliably than prose
- If a recording jumps between places that never overlap, the transcript keeps those parts as separate sections
