Want to use with iNat but can’t log in
I use my Apple login for iNaturalist, but Seek asks for an email and password. It won’t let me use Apple to login, so I can’t sync it with my iNat account. Frustrating.
Why?!?!?
So I got this app because I wanted to learn more about insects and animals. I learned some new stuff. But my aunts dog is like a mix of 4 different of dogs, and I wanted to learn a little bit an about what she is. So a take a picture and it tells me she is a white polar bear???!!!??? (My aunts dog is dark brown and black). Ok so I get that you can’t tell me all the breeds she is but at least tell me she isn’t a polar bear. So I give this app 3 stars since I learned a little bit.

Update horrible
I’ve had this app for about 18months. At first it was great and then I guess they did an update. Now the app barely works and will not identify anything like it used to.
Please update this app!
This app is good. It’s good when I find an animal or plant and want to know what it is. I also like to look at plants and animals on this app. When I want to read about certain animals and plants, I can’t find them on the app! Please add a search bar so it’s easier for people to read about certain plants and animals!

Frustrating to the MAX
Have a bird feeder in my tiny apartment front yard that attracts lots of birds. Wanted to know what they were so looked for app to identify them. This one had good rating so I got it. The problem is it almost always tells me to take pic from different angle, or move camera around. Usually says we thinks it’s a bird. Well duh!!! I want to know what kind. In a week I have only identified 5 birds. And today it told me one of the birds was a non-venomous snake. And my dog’s leash is also a snake. The other day, a bird was a wolf. The same with plants. It takes forever to get a plant identification. This has turned out to be a total waste of my time.

Ehhhhhh…….
It is great if you can get up close to what you want to identify…like really close. It gets a lot of things wrong, even when the animal you are trying to identify is in a clear cage! It is ok…
Amazing app, a few hopes it for it
Considering it identifies things correctly the majority of the time, I’m really impressed by the app! Everything in it so far is well designed. One thing I’d really like is to be able to create folders and sub-folders within my observations. Like being able to group all of the plants on my property together, and then group them further like by a specific garden, or your weeds you have. Then a folder of the plants you saw while traveling somewhere. Also as a plant noob, more information on each plant would be really nice, like their soil, sun, and water preferences, it would really be an all around helper app in that regard

Inaccurate AI Slop as Edutainment Shovelware
If you are able to identify just about 10 plants yourself and know what dicots/monocots are, you are going to want to violently throttle the ai-slop consumers who created and swear by this app. This app is recommended so often despite being equal/worse to similar apps one has to suspect the hype is artificially generated. A data center somewhere is destroying nature so this app can miserably fail at telling you what a plant is.

Wish I Could Share
I love this app. Very fun to use. Identifications are much better than when I first got this app during the pandemic. One wish I have is that it had a way to share species discovery with other users.
what happened
It misidentified 15 out of 20 plants today When logged in to I-Naturlist. Never had so much trouble before this.
What happened to Seek?
This app used to be excellent and very accurate but since whatever update they made sometime in the past year, it is virtually wrong 75% of the time. The new AI model sucks and they should go back to the old one.

Disappointed
I have found that it is unable to identify plants. It only IDs the plant family.
New ID Model is Awful
Seek is too unreliable to be very useful anymore. It started during the summer of 2025, and just seems to get worse. It tries to be too fast and wastes a lot of time and battery by trying to ID extraneous stuff before you can even get the camera aimed. Today I tried to identify a wingless insect and first Seek said it was cornsmut, then a few moths, then wild garlic. Seriously??

Macro is not supported
It used to be amazing when it supported the macro camera. But now, bizarrely, it doesn't. And thus, it's next to useless. So disappointing, cause I used to love it!

I love this app and have used it for years now identifying 100’s of plants and insects. Mostly plants. It is excellent. However, I used to be able to choose when to take a photo and take my time to focus on what I choose, now before I even have the item I need centered or in focus it snaps a photo as soon as I open it before I can position or zoom for a better photo - very annoying. Meaning it grabs whatever was in the way upon opening the app! I aim for a flower and it sees a bug and snaps it before I can do anything or vise versa. Also, please take the warning away that wastes so much time especially with bugs that are moving and disappearing before you can get through the screens!

Fun, but wish it were more helpful
This app makes me feel like I’m living Subnautica or Pokémon in real life. It’s fun exploring and identifying bugs and plants (unless it’s wrong, which it is quite often. I think it would be better if it had ai like the app for Birdbuddy) but I get a little disappointed when I try to read more about the species and all I get is a description that “this ‘scientific name’ is called ‘common name’ is found in the USA.” I was hopping I’d get some fun facts like what is the purpose of the species? or are there any unique quirks to it? Do people use this plant or are there any specific animals that like this particular plant? I bet I learned more about spiders from the web than this.

now it can never focus on anything and struggles to correctly identify anything or identify it past the first level of identification. cant even trust it when it does get the whole classification
