Scam
All I get is spam mail. Even when I confirm my email it will not let me play the game but I get spam mail like crazy after confirming my email. This is not a game it’s a scam to sell your email.
Shockingly bad
Endless typos, unresponsive controls, extremely repetitive mechanics, building upgrade costs completely disproportionate to the reward, pointless energy mechanics, confusing quests… I got it for free and my boyfriend and I had a good laugh at it for a while and how absurd it is, but it quickly became tedious. I go sharpen a sword at the forge and it tells me I was successful, yet the guy at the tavern says I lost it and it’s nowhere in my inventory or equipment. I also think the warlock’s riddle game for the Earth ring is the single most disrespectful mechanic I’ve ever seen. If you don’t get a good score you have to start the riddles all over again, but getting a high score is nearly impossible because there’s a delay on the button. How do you launch a game based on how accurately you can hit a button, and the button doesn’t even work correctly? Game regularly crashes and has random black screens at loading that require tapping the upright corner to load the game.

Pile of poorly coded garbage
Cheaply made garbage. Could never leave the building screen once I went into it.
Oh, and it requires you to enter your email address EVERY TIME YOU START A NEW GAME. Smells like a scam.

Pointless energy system.
I love old-school RPGs, but I can’t get past why there’s a completely unnecessary energy system. It basically makes the game unplayable. It takes ~25 energy to walk anywhere on the quest map, and you regenerate ~50 energy in a few hours. So you can basically do a couple of very basic ‘go to this location’ quests every few hours. Then you just wait for your energy to regenerate. It’s like a F2P game without any in app purchases or to actually take away the unnecessary waits. Of course, with how much energy is required to just walk around, if there were purchases for energy it would take a huge load of cash to play this game and enjoy it

Terrible game balance out of the gate
Too many monsters to fight to get to quest objectives, character does too little damage compared to the monsters, monsters hit you everytime they attack and replacement healing potions are so expensive you can’t buy more.
The opening story makes no sense compared to what you are dumped into.

You pay for the game, no pay to win. Classic 80’s feel. Really enjoying this!

A golden nugget
If your like me and spend too much time trawling through the App Store downloading rpgs and deleting them within a day then I am sure this one is for you. It’s nostalgia at its heart and the work and journey the developer has gone through to bring this gem to you is most definitely worth the download. Press the developers website below and read the bio and you’ll understand what I mean.

Good game
The game is fun to play well worth the price however i have came across a bunch of bugs and a glitch in the game. Hopefully they can be fixed eventually

Black Screen - Unplayable
Launches to logo, then black screen. Developer website not found. Not eligible for a refund. Apple support gave suggestions that I had already tried. A pity I was really excited to play this game …

Worth the wait!
I was happy to finally get the email this came out. It’s exactly what i expected! I enjoy the small breaks you must take to regain energy. This feel like Quest for Glory - esk!
Not bad!
So far, so good - It reminds me of old turn based games, but looks to also have a castle defence building mechanic. Interesting! One question though: Why have a limit to my energy for walking on the overworld? Other than putting the game down, or using a fairly expensive (for the early game) potion, can I sleep somewhere to regain this energy?

Really enjoying this old school throw back
This is the game I’ve always wanted for iOS. Perfect authentic throwback to the original RPG’s of the 80’s. No ads, no in app purchases, just the good ol’ fashioned “buy the game and play” - and at a really good price I might add. Well worth the $5 bucks. I would’ve paid more but don’t tell the dev 😅

A truly nostalgic experience!!
I’ve always been looking for a easy to use, addictive game that you can quickly open up explore a dungeon or battle a horde of goblins and this is just that. It takes me back to my D&D days when it’s just you and that dodgy blunt dagger against the world. The combat is great also pushing you to work for that next set of armour and better weapons with the quests feeling rewarding; I will say I did run out of energy a few times but it is nice to see with potions you’re able to get it back rather than some micro transactions like other games. Overall 5/5 would recommend to anyone who loves the fantasy genre :)

Excellent journey through the quest with great graphics and attention for detail. Recommend all to try this game that is immersive. Congested to the creators for such a nice piece of work. The hours taken to construct this must have been huge. Well done and thank you.
Nostalgic and fun
Shadow Quest is a nostalgic it seamlessly blends classic design elements with modern gameplay mechanics, resulting in an experience that's both familiar and refreshingly new. It reminds me of the good ole days . I’ll spend lots of time playing it.
A real indie gem
I am enjoying exploring the maps and playing the little mini games that start from the second map. The story is predictable but entertaining and I enjoy the strategy element of trying not to run out of energy when exploring, I have to pick my routes carefully! I got stuck once and had to wait for the game to regen the energy which is something I try avoid now by planning my routes to collect resources and visit places as part of my quest journeys! Overall a decent fun game that reminds me of the good old days of gaming.

Shadow Quest - a return to simpler days!
A real throwback game you can play at your own pace with no need for constant in game payments to advance your character or your progression through the game. Love it!
