Wouldn’t have done the Road to Hāna any other way
We couldn’t have done the Hāna highway without this guide! We learned so much by stopping where the app recommended and listening to the fun facts on the way back out. Our phones were without service from the beginning of the journey & we had no issues with finding cool stops/food on the way using Shaka (be sure to bring a charger with you!)

My Personal guide
Seems, someone is seated next to you and explain everything you need routes/places/history/etc. There is no need for pre planning. Recently I bought Yellowstone &Teton pack and in two days we have covered most of the places.

Continuous/Dangerous Technical Issues
We used the Shaka Tour guide for two different tours around the island of Oahu. We used the Shaka Guide on two different iPhone 16 Max Pros paired with a USB cable to a late model Nissan Pathfinder. On two subsequent days.
We experiences continuous issues with audio switching from the car audio system to the iPhone when changing from story telling to lovely local music. We also gps issues location, despite having the phone on the dash in full view of satellites, requiring us to back track, pull over, restart the guide and use Apple Maps to get us back on track to the point that after realizing we had missed a long section of several (10+) narration spots along a section of the route.
Finally, to save our sanity and marriage we gave up on the Shaka guide and came back to Honolulu and enjoyed the Bishop Museum.
I attempted to contact in-app support, but was left hanging for a long time after two obvious bot responses apparently wanting to confirm I was a paying customer rather help me resolve the repeated issues we were having.
When it was working it’s an amazing 4+ star guide. The stories were great. The local music filled the dead space.
Unfortunately, I can NOT recommend this app to anyone looking for an stress-free, leisurely, guided tour.

Such A Great Experience!
This was such an inexpensive, VERY informative and great tour we have taken at our own pace! Loved every bit of it! You can pause it, play it at any time and will adjust to your location. Love the history, stories and music provided, packing list, which places charge an entry fee and how much…they do it all for you in just one app! And you keep it forever!

Great self guided tour
We really enjoyed the Oahu Circle Island tour. Very informative, entertaining and accurate. The only recommendation that we have is allowing a little more notice when you have to get on/off of highways. A couple times the instructions say to exit in a quarter mile. That’s not much time if you’re not in the correct lane with heavy traffic. Otherwise this is a fantastic trip and would highly recommend.

Saved my marriage
This made the road to Hana incredibly easy. This would’ve been very difficult to do without the Shaka Guide GPS guidance. My husband and I joked all day long that it was the best $25 to spend. Otherwise we would’ve been stressed about where we needed to go, and which stops to skip, resulting in fights. Shaka is cheaper than marriage counseling or divorce.

Great tour! Have used the app in Yellowstone and Hawaii and it is great! Informative and an easy way to explore new places. Definitely recommend for your next journey to a new destination!
Exceptional Guide
Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks Guide. Exceptional. Incredible app tracking exactly where you are and perfect directions for every option to do/see. Informative and interesting commentary. Easy to use. Great integration with Apple Car Play. Perfect for someone who doesn’t know the park. No need for a group guided tour. Great value at an inexpensive price. Good length of visit.

Oahu grand tour
We loved this tour. We were able to see so many great parts of the island. The best part was we were able to contour own pace. The directions were perfect and the tour guides history of the island was a great perk!

These have been so entertaining and informative. I’ve only used two on the wahoo, but I can’t wait to use the others on Maui, Kauai , and Hawaii.

Shaka Guide helped us see so much of the Badlands, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons. We learned a lot of history.

Would use again. Great way to see a park. We used them in Maui on the road to Hana in the Teton park and Yellowstone. Other than a few glitches with technology on the iPhone and in rental cars the app was great!!
On the iPhone Apple Music kept wanting to play over the app when connecting Bluetooth to rental car. Once I used Apple play seemed to solve the issue. Had one issue where app seemed to lose its place. But closed and reopened app and it solved issue.
Otherwise app is well done and feels very natural and seamless. Like having a guide with you.

Loved it so much!
This app is AMAZING! We used it for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway. It took all the guess work out of finding places, which overlooks were the best, how difficult trails were, where we could find a bathroom, opportunities to refuel, and more. The hoist key and stories were so fun! We had 2 different narrators. They were both conversational and relatable. I love it’s real people, not AI. Thank you so much! We didn’t worry. We just enjoyed with this app!

The tour was so helpful and entertaining. Was right on point . We drove up with the family and did a lot of the stops in the tour.
Road to Hāna loop
Our family of 6 did the loop and the Shaka Guide was an awesome option. The kids loved the guides lessons and suggestions and it made the whole trip more pleasant - like you actual have a guide in the car with you the whole time. Worth every penny!
Surprisingly amazing!!
I was blown away by how accurate the timing was on the narration. So much info and delivered at the perfect time. This made my Road To Hana experience a thousand times better than if I would have just driven it by myself.
