Lots of glitches
Photos comments and fitness sync are about all that work. The first time the messages didn’t work I was told the only fix is to delete and reinstall. That fix only worked a few days and hasn’t worked again. I’ve rebooted and reinstalled 10x with no success.
I was then told to use the app for the photos since this isn’t available on the website and to use the website for all messages since that doesn’t work in the app.

Hi Adegennaro, So sorry to hear about chat not working for you. In version 4.0.0, we recently released new chat, which resolves these chat issues. Thanks!
Fails constantly
Regularly fails. At the moment not only not syncing with Fitbit but shows no data at all. Worst app ever. No way to contact support from the app. If there isn’t enough frustration trying to lose weight, this app only adds to it. And what’s worse. Nothing gets fixed.
Not up to par
The app is glitchy from the the moment I downloaded it. Customer service is not helpful. Only using it as part of a special free program through health insurance. There are plenty of better apps that work better.
Extremely happy
I have had no problems since I began using the app in Feb 2022. Photos upload immediately, commenting works. The only thing I would ask is for a way to log without a photo, but my coach says she kinda enjoys seeing our cats, flowers, and empty plates.
Useless app
There is really no reason to use the app if I have to log in to the website to see comments from my coach or log my meals. I’ve also been trying for 3 days to get the FitBit app to synch to this app with no success. The program is a great one but the use of this nonfunctional app is going to cause a lot of users to discontinue participation. This is suppose to be a simple process but having to utilize a workaround to communicate is a tremendous inconvenience to say the least.

New version fixed nothing.
I wish the developer would contact people who leave reviews. This app doesn’t work. Even with the update it doesn’t properly sync with apple health. Messages still don’t appear using iOS.
Not worth trying even with it being free.

Does not work like it should
I don’t like this app at all! My Fitbit aria scale does not connect to my share care app. It syncs to the fit bit app but nothing else. I can’t manually add my weight in there either. Like it has been said in all the other reviews the message board is useless as I can see that individuals are sending messages but all I see on my end are a bunch of dots which is frustrating.

Hi Mrs. Colton - Fitbit doesn't allow for connecting individual devices; rather you need to connect your Fitbit account to Scale Back. This can be done under the Profile section. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Support if you need some further help with this. Thanks! Erin
Doesn’t work
I downloaded the app but after logging in through Share Care it just takes me back to the login screen. I’ve restarted my phone, deleted and downloaded the app again, and contacted support. Nothing works.
Can’t get past login screen
I would love to actually use the app, however when I click the button to login via my Sharecare account, I end up in a loop that doesn’t allow me to enter any credentials. I have deleted twice and tried to redownload to no avail.

Doesn’t work
The application does not work. The latest update broke authentication for some reason, I don’t know if it was a log4j patch or what but the application is completely broken for me know. Also, the integration with Apple Health Data doesn’t work well at all.
Not able to login to app
When try to login to app it keeps going back to login screen.
Not good at all
I just signed up through my health insurance. The app definitely loaded to my phone. Unfortunately when i click to sign in, the app won’t initialize to the sign in page and takes me back to “Sign In”. I’ll change my score when this process improves.
An effective program
While some of the classes are super basic, that makes sure you have a solid understanding for later classes. It’s helping me stay accountable and on track.
Wish it worked as advertised
The photos for the app show comments from the dietician on the food log and chat conversations with the group. This is not possible with the app on my iOS device. I must log into the website. It is also difficult to log food. You can take a photo of the food using the app camera icon, but it doesn’t show load it to the screen. You have to go around in a circle and select it from photos, and then select it again within the app. It’s difficult to sync other programs. For instance, in the program I’m in, FitBit is required. However, the app can’t see FitBit (it can see Apple Health). So, there are extra steps on FitBit that you must go through. The app does not show that FitBit is connected after the two apps are connected. That seems like a lack of transparency if you cant see the apps that are connected to the app.

Pretty good app, great program
The app has been improve in the fall of 2021. The need to daily reauthorize data access via Fitbit has been resolved. The program itself is very well organized. In the end, it is up to you to make a commitment to take care of your health. The Scale Back application is a good tool to help you.
I really was tired of re-authorizing Fitbit again and agin, but this is now resolved.
I would prefer an application that can calculate calories, (the Fitbit app does this well). The reliance on your food photos is rather strange, but it does the job.
My experience is the combination of the video check-ins with the coach and the Scale Back app is good. If you want to develop better eating and exercise habits and take better care of yourself, I recommend you try it.

Good idea. Needs update
Food log with photo is fine. Messages don’t show up- only sender name and 3 dots. Integration with Apple Watch sporadically correct. Calorie count is sometimes BMR only and other times active minutes from watch (although not always accurate). So what is it??? Integration with Fitbit scale works well.

Great program, buggy app
The idea behind this is great and I appreciate the live group sessions that form the background of this program. But the app is a real letdown. Messaging doesn’t work, login through single sign on is a challenge, syncing with other platforms and devices is limited, etc.
Poor design and unreliable
I echo the thoughts of other reviewers. This app is just not good at all. Fitbit integration is horrendous. I have to reconnect Fitbit multiple times a day and the health data still isn’t accurate. When I contacted product support, the response was, “our engineers are working on it”. The app has no home feature and seems to randomly determine what home is. And the food logging is so bad. There’s no distinction of day to day logging like most other food logging apps. And don’t get me started about the food logging camera feature. Doesn’t matter how you point your camera to the plate or a screenshot — picture always gets cut off. The messaging feature for the comments from the nutritionist is also poorly executed; I’m never sure when he’s contacting me. I was so excited about this program but now going into week 3, I continue to find the app UX to be very poor and frustrating.

Good concept poorly executed
I like integrating all my health data from fit bit, meals, and coaching, but so much doesn’t work in this app. Cannot read messages from group members, weights have not shown up in the app from the bodytrace scale until several days later(if at all). The body trace scale is another issue entirely (why are they still restricted to cell phone connections only). Develops apparently make changes to the database structure that are not coordinated with either the website or the app. Tech support only ever answers with “the engineers are working on that”. They must have the world’s slowest engineers.
