What's New in ShipsClock

1.3.2

October 17, 2023

- The moon now orients bottom to center. It’s phase looks as if lighted by the sun. - The sun and moon will no longer sometimes hang-up at midnight. Most probably no longer. - Removed support for the watch because presence of the watch disables the bells. - Notifications (bells) will no longer play after dismissing the app while it is running in the background. - The bell will no longer play when the app is started or moved to foreground after being in background.

Live Aboard Sailor

I live aboard a 30 ft sailboat and my 40+ year old Airguide mechanical ships clock has stopped working. This is an excellent replacement! I enjoy being aware of the time by hearing the bells without having to look at a clock or watch or phone.

Replaces my Weems and Plath

My Weems and Plath clock failed, ringing the incorrect number of bells, and they would not do anything to fix it. So I bought this and put it on an unused iPhone.
The bell sounds are far superior to any app, and actually are better than the chiming ship’s clock, much to my surprise.
I do have an Apple watch, unfortunately, as the app developer noted, the clock will not chime on my current iPhone if it is connected to the watch.
That’s my only complaint.

Response from developer

Did you allow notifications? Are you using an Apple Watch?

Wont sound bell all the time. It just turned 1200 noon, no bell???

Crap

This app is crap, it plays the bells every 15 minutes not 30 and there is no way to fix it. I deleted the app and it still sounds the bells. How do I stop it?
