A lot of potential
I like the idea of the app. It has a lot of potential. However, to justify the price at least two issues have to be fixed. First of all, the developers claim to add functionality that is not present in the Canon app. This is somehow correct but the geotagging feature, i. e. providing the GPS position to the camera is missing. In addition, the app claims to collect usage data but there is no setting to opt out.
In addition, the developers should look into ways to improve the connection reliability. Even if that is only fixable by Canon, the price should reflect the overall value of the app.
Will cancel the trial subscription for now and reconsider after the GPS and tracking issue are fixed.

Looks like a charm
Unbridled functionality
Great app!
Having problems trying to connect my Canon R8 using the Connection app from the manufacturer, I discovered this app on YouTube. Installed it on my iPhone 17 Pro Max, took a few times to connect to Wi-Fi, but if finally connected and now I can control my R8 remotely! Highly recommended for Canon shooters!!!

Très bonne application, plus stable que l’application Canon
J’ai téléchargé par curiosité, et cette application est très bien faite.
Une fois connecté à mon Eos 70D, contrairement à l’application Canon Camera Connect, je n’ai eu aucune déconnection wifi entre entre l’iPhone et l’appareil photo.
Il manque tout de même l’effacement des photos présentes sur l’appareil directement depuis l’application après les avoir téléchargées, ce qui évitera de devoir le faire depuis la appareil photo ou en se connectant à Camera Connect.
Quand cette fonction sera implémentée, l’application Canon pourra être mise de côté.
5 étoiles pour encourager le développement, l’assistance par mail est très réactive.

great interface, would love more controls
Looks great, easy to navigate and works incredibly well with iphone 17 Pro Max and USB-C connection.
Would love to see the camera tools and settings expanded that i've soon on other similar apps (AF, file type, color profile etc)
Also a HUGE bonus would be anamorphic de-squeeze!!!
That would keep this app on my phone and well deserving of 5 stats.

I love this app so much how do I begin the ways?!?! It makes life so much easier as a canon shooter. From actually connecting immediately to handling canon’s “delicate” software better than canon’s own app, “camera connect,” in every way.
Not only does it connect better, faster but it also holds the connection to my camera - 100% without incident, it converts the files automatically to proper formats rather than having to build shortcuts on my phone.
All in all this app is superior to canon’s in every way so if you are a wireless photo downloading fan — even in the field & without cell covg - and you like everything to work smoothly whilst e-tethered, then this is your app!

Charges before trial
I am still in the 7-day trial period and I’ve already been charged for the app. Seems a bit unscrupulous to me. Will I be refunded?
New User - Self Taught
SX720SH connected via wifi and images transferred, unsure where the images can be stored or transferred to on iPad. Was able to send one image from connected camera to WhatsAp, very convenient. Was able to control remote shutter photography. So far encouraged and extremely promising. Exploring… have fun! Great to use this older model again, it’s alive and well!

Using with R5 mark II
I’m a bird photographer and I got this so I can place the camera closer to the birds than they would permit if I was holding the camera directly. Way better than the Canon app (which is free) - once you have the connection it keeps it well. I’ve used the camera-WiFi connection mostly but after working with Support we got the usb cable working too. Like everything there is a little bit of a learning curve but support was very responsive and I’m taking backyard bird photos I probably couldn’t have taken without setting up a blind etc.

Love the Features, Minor Improvement Needed
Great app overall! I love that I can set a timer, see a live view from my phone, and choose exactly how many photos I want to take. It makes taking self-portraits and group photos so much easier and more professional. The only feature I wish it had is the ability to delete photos directly from the app. Other than that, it’s been a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Great app
So glad I found this app. Connecting was easy and love all the features, bells and whistles. Good bye Canon Camera Connect. Started looking for a replacement when Canon began forcing a sign in before using their app. I should thank Canon because it led me to Shutter which is way, way better.

Great app, much better than camera brand app
Long time Canon user. When Canon changed their app to require sign in the sign in always failed with a 403 error. Since no help was available to resolve, I gave the Shutter app a try. Oh my gosh, what a terrific app!! The fact that it allows for selection of the raw files for the download is huge!! Shutter is fast, convenient and stable. Count me as a Shutter fan. Not going back to the Canon app even if they fix the App sign in.

Diese App ist eine gute Alternative zur Canon App, da sie mehr Funktionen bietet und außerdem nicht wie bei Canon neuerdings eine Online Registrierung nötig ist. Kann diese App sehr empfehlen. Nutze sie mit meiner Canon R6 ii. Die Einrichtung hat sehr gut und schnell funktioniert. Manchmal klappt das Herstellen der WLAN Verbindung nicht sofort, aber wenn die Verbindung da ist, läuft es stabil.
Zudem hat mich begeistert, dass der Entwickler auf kleine Kompatibilitätsprobleme, die ich anfangs hatte, zügig mit einem Update reagiert hat.
