Life saver!

So easy to use and helped us out tremendously in a last minute bind.

Great service

We feel very grateful for Sitters’ team’s hard work picking their dedicated sitters. And I know how thorough they are because many years ago I was a Sitter for Sitters and it was a long interviewing and checking process until I was accepted. An absolutely essential service to the community providing trustworthy sitters for when families need a helping hand. Please do keep up the great work.

Confusing app, poor customer service

This is either a purposefully misleading app, or just a bad UX. I downloaded this app to see if I could learn more information about babysitters in London. Instead it walks you through a process to book your first babysitter. I had no idea I was creating an open call for baby sitters to apply. When I learned that they don’t let you contact sitters before booking, I asked to delete my account. Instead, the app selected ones for me. When I went to cancel (because I had no intention of ever booking a babysitter without meeting them first) I was charged £5. Either this was all by design or the app has some serious flaws.

Really positive experience

I would recommend sitters, the quality of people available and their communication and checking. The system matching process. Everything was really efficient and effective. Being able to see the sitters jobs and then how many jobs they’d completed for sitters gave so much reassurance.
Sitters phoned to make sure if there were any questions before the booking went ahead. It really eased my nerves! Would definitely use again.

Buggy

The app is buggy. You can’t see messages from sitters on the app and when you do want to send a message to sitters the keyboard blocks the submit button. You have to type the message, then press the back button, a pop up appears asking if you want to discard draft then you click on no and then you can see the submit button. It’s such a faff. Amazing sitters on the platform but the app itself is awful and not entirely user friendly.

Excellent App!

The developers of this service and app deserve a reward. I recently visited London from the US and used this app for last minute nanny service, and I was amazed by how efficient and user friendly this app is. This was by far the easiest time I’ve ever experienced with booking a nanny, especially at the very last second. This app found a nanny for me within minutes, and also it set up everything, including the messages and the payment. It was so easy to use, and I really wish that they had this service in America. I would be its number one fan! Great job! Cheers!

Best babysitter app

Easy to navigate, professional and friendly sitters

Absolutely useless

I made 8 bookings with Sitters and after they failed to find a sitter for the fifth consecutive booking , I cancelled the remaining 3 days (they hadn’t found a sitter for those bookings either).

Terrible

I have worked with Sitters as a babysitter for over 20 years. It’s absolutely ridiculous that it now takes 4-5 WORKING days to now get paid! I now do not receive ANY tips at all. When I use to receive my pay from parents after the work. Sitters now get to earn off interest on your money through keeping it for days! Half the time it’s not worth my while to take a booking anymore. Hate the app and all the parents I have spoken to all hate it.

Always reliable

We’ve found some really helpful sitters, sometimes at short notice, through this app. We were first introduced to Sitters through my friend’s recommendation and used their website originally. The app now does the job better and – what a relief – we can finally settle up with the sitter through the app! Shout out to Mica F who has become a firm favourite with our sons, we only have good things to say about Sitters. Thanx, Jo.

Sitters App

The app is fantastic for booking babysitters at long or short notice, however the ability to view messages from sitters is limited, having to go to emails to see what the message is rather than using the actual messaging function that should be available. Additionally, there is no way to adjust notifications, so when a sitter is booked, on the day of booking you get multiple notifications to remind you that it’s almost time for the booking, then when the booking has started with a reminder the sitter will need payment at the end, then again at the end to remind you the sit has taken place and to sort payment. After the sitter has been, there is then notifications the following day at hourly intervals to remind you a sitter has been and please leave a review. At £17.99 a quarter, it feels like whilst the app is great for finding a babysitter and facilitating payment, I also feel like I’m being treated like an idiot! The app also notifies of ‘helpful’ reminders to point out there’s customer service available and how the app can make your life so much easier. I’ll continue to use the app for now since I’ve already paid the £17.99 but may consider moving to another app in future.

Shockingly poor

This used to be such a great service through their website. Now it’s forced APP only its home so downhill. So many issues and discrepancies. Namely sitters list their own hourly rate. As from… £13 an hour. But once booked they can change this to go up to a much higher rate, only confirmed once booked and you have no control about this!! It’s hugely deceptive. Now sadly a rip off.

Perfect child care

This is a really good agency. They deliver what they say on the tin. At very little notice they found Emma for me, who is first class in her role as a child sitter and more. It meant that I was able to take my little boy to see his paternal family. We had a wonderful time. I am really pleased to have found Sitters.

Availability calendar

I had hoped that after waiting many weeks for a new availability calendar that this would be an improvement on the last one.

How disappointed am I.

The new one does not give times covered by a morning, afternoon of evening slot like the previous one not did. It also gave the sitter the option to opt out when on a holiday.

I had hoped this new calendar would have more times slots like early morning 6-9 then 9-12 . Afternoons 1-3 3-6 then evenings 6-12 and then til late.

A sitter may not be able to do an early morning sit a but be free after school drop offs to do a morning sit. I.e 9/9.30 onwards.

Not having the option to block yourself out in advance like the old calendar has lead to me accepting a job when I wasn’t available. It was much better on the old system. I hope Sitters will re-think this Calendar and make the necessary improvements.

Much improved

Having been a Sitter for 21 years I was definitely apprehensive about changing the system but a few months on it has most definitely improved. Job opportunities are quickly available and easy to accept or decline. Payment has been going through with no issues and it drops into your account approximately 4days later. And now we have a calendar again, it got lost for a little while, so all looking positive and thinking that it just might be better.

App is dreadful with no support

We love our sitters but hate the app and lack of support.

Terrible

Giving 1 star just for the review- it deserves -0. I have been a sitter for sitters since 2007, never had any issues. Staff and parents have been wonderful. I was exited and welcomed the app when they announced. It turned out to be a nightmare!! Bombarded with repeat bookings sometimes 5 repeat bookings at once for the same slot, and the bookings have already gone anyway. Parents request their favourite sitters, but sitter never receives any of the requests. I had supposedly a confirmed booking - which I was held for for over a month- it turns out the family had cancelled the app all together and had no knowledge of any sitter booked for that night - resulting in the sitter loosing income and the embarrassment of disturbing the family. Contacted ‘sitters’ to rectify, yet no one has contacted me at all, however I did receive an automated response stating that they now charge parents up to 12.5% on top of the booking fee. Never knew this. Maybe is my time to move on to another company.

I use sitters as a sitter. I have sat for some lovely families over the years (joined in 2019). Since the app was launched it’s had some problems but hopefully over time they will be ironed out. The most frustrating thing is waiting 7 days for payment to go through but understandable as sitters have to make money somehow. It’s also frustrating we can’t state our availability as sitters yet but this will hopefully become a feature in the new year (I work during the week so I am usually only available on a weekend evening).
It’s helpful when we can set how much we charge, because for me if I know it’s just one child and they will likely be asleep for the majority of the evening i’m not going to charge their parents £14.70 an hour!
Also if the sit is miles away from my location I will increase my hourly rate.

All in all as a childcare provider I would recommend sitters!

Payment conditions

Not sure what is going on with the payments. My sitter says that I’m paying her via app which I did not know and paid here again directly. If the payment is going automatically from my account- I never agreed to that or have I authorised anyone to do this
